Every year tourists flock to the South of France to escape from their everyday lives. As mentioned in A Writer’s Retreat in the South of France, the peaceful solitude found in the Provençal villages has attracted writers, artists, and thinkers for centuries.
Meanwhile, travelers looking for a tantalizing beach culture migrate to the waterfront of the French Riviera. Historic architecture, scenic surroundings, peace and tranquility, or trendsetting locales, the South of France has something to offer everyone.
The New York Habitat team from the South of France has compiled a list of the top towns to visit when traveling there. If you can enjoy the South of France for a few weeks or even a month, we would recommend trying to visit all of the top five cities. However, if you are only able to come for a week, read through our recommendations to help find the perfect apartment or villa in the French Riviera, Provence or anywhere else in the region.
We will reveal the top five vacation destinations there over the course of the upcoming weeks. Check back to the New York Habitat blog each Thursday for the countdown to number one. Perhaps one of these towns will have the perfect villa or apartment for your next vacation.
