Vincent Van Gogh is another famous man that Saint Rémy holds dear.  For the last year of his life, Van Gogh committed himself to the asylum and former monastery Saint Paul de Mausole, which still serves as a psychiatric hospital to this day, though small tours are permitted.  It was here that Van Gogh painted some of his most famous works, such as The Starry Night and Bedroom in Arles. To see some of Van Gogh’s work, go to the Musée Estrine, which organizes a themed exhibit of some of the artists’ paintings each year.
