The apartment was clean and comfortable with modern appliances. The location was excellent within easy walking distance of the Underground, shops and restaurants. The setting of the building was also delightful on a tree shaded street. The greeting at the apartment by the London management company was smooth and timed to meet us as we arrived from the airport. All in all it was a very satisfactory stay.

This is a very convenient (five minute walk from Holland Park on the Central Line) new flat. It is nicely decorated in shades of grey, and the rain shower bathroom is nice, as are the new appliances. The clothes washer tended to wrinkle items if not taken out early...there is a drying rack. We liked the many small shops along Holland park Avenue (there is also a Tesco Express) and the restaurants.

The local pub was quiet and served good food, but do not miss the Italian restaurant. There is also a good green grocer, bakery, and a fantastic meat market for those who wish to cook evening meals (we were always out during the day). The lounge/kitchen is just one room, and a bit cramped, but we were only there in the evenings when not seeing a play.

One more subway stop is Shepard's Bush with perhaps the biggest mall in London with many restaurants of every sort (try the champagne bar)and a upscale Waitrose grocery with good wines. Ten minutes away is a quiet Japanese garden in Holland Park, great for lunch. The only major problem was the traffic noise from Holland Park Avenue. The flat faces Norland Park, but is close to the intersection.

There is double glazing (it was hot in August so we only closed them only at night for security) except for the bedroom with an octagonal swivel window that cannot easily be doubled glazed. We stuffed the opening each night with sofa cushions and pillows, but my wife who doesn't tolerate ear plugs, could not sleep well. I had no problem even without ear plugs.

So if you are sensitive to street noise, this may not be the place for you. Wine helps. But it is a lovely flat and brand new! The Central Line takes you to many sights without transfer.

Many thanks for writing such a nice review for the Norland Square apartment. We are surprised to learn that you could hear traffic noise when the windows are closed.

We have now had numerous lettings in this flat and nobody has ever mentioned that this was a problem.
