Room to rent in a two bedroom apartment
|
Location New York City Upper East Side, 75th Street and York Avenue.
Size 2 bedroom apartment, with one bathroom.
Building Situated in a quiet and safe neighborhood, this apartment is located on the parlor floor of a 1900 building in a very quiet "village-like" neighborhood. A Laundromat and express cleaner is conveniently located across the street, just few steps away.
The proximity of many "elite" private schools, Sotheby's and the fact it is home to a number of famous people makes the York Neighborhood extremely safe with a constant supervision by the NY Police (often with plain-clothes policemen) day or night.
Interior Cozy, clean and comfortable apartment on a very quiet street (the 2 bedrooms are on a courtyard, nothing to disturb your rest!)
Large Bedroom Spacious room to sleep a couple on a new (purchased in September) queen size bed fitted with high quality linens and lots of pillows! The room is equipped with a large TV with most popular cable channels available, a DVD player and VCR as well as an A/C.
Yellow Bedroom Lively room, with good closet space and a twin bed fitted with a comfortable duvet and lots of pillows. The room is located on the back of the building and is therefore quiet.
The bathroom includes a sink with vanity and medicine cabinet, a w/c and a shower/tub.
The Apartment Use of a shared large and spacious living room and kitchen (eat in kitchen with large windows, nice light, an island to eat your breakfast perched on Italian stools, "bar style", or use the large glass table for a more formal sitting-down experience!)
The apartment, furnished mainly with European antiques and art objects, has a nice homey feeling.
The 2 small cats being rather shy will respect your privacy and space, except if you are a dedicated cat-lover and take the time to establish a relationship with them.
Neighborhood Within a walking distance of a few minutes there are bars, restaurants and coffee places of all types, budgets and nationality. This is a sophisticated neighborhood with many museums: , the Whitney, The Guggenheim, the Metropolitan, the Frick Collection, etc, the haute couture store of Madison Avenue and also the charm of the East River Park (with the large free New York Park Pool two blocks away during the summer) and not too far within reach by as well as the East River Park. Strolling on York Avenue, you can explore the famous Sotheby's Auction House (72nd street) and view incredible artifacts before they are sold to museums or private collections around the world, or discover the elite architecture of Sutton Place...
Catching the M31bus on York Avenue will take you to the heart of Manhattan (Tiffany, Christian Dior, the Sony Gallery on 57th and Fifth Avenue). From the 42nd floor of the building there is a magnificent view miles into New Jersey, Queens, and most of Manhattan. The YMHA and other health and social organizations are within 3 minutes walk or less.
Transportation Public transportation is within a few minutes walk and available 24 hours. On York Avenue, you can catch the X90 to Wall Street (Express bus) or the M31 that will go down to 57th Street and then take you across. On 2nd and Lexington Avenue, a large number of busses can take you downtown, express or local. And if you need to reach Central Park fast or go to the West Side, 79th street Cross-town bus is a quick jump and a hop! The subway station on 77th Street and Lexington can also take you everywhere in a jiffy!
