The proximity of Prospect Park with all its activities and the easy access to Manhattan only 4 subway stops away make this three bedroom apartment in Brooklyn a great option for those looking for an apartment share in New York. This apartment is situated at Rutland Road & Rogers Avenue, on a beautiful street lined with trees and other typical townhouses from the turn of the century in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, a neighborhood east of Prospect Park. It occupies the 2nd floor of a walk-up two-family house equipped with a doorbell.
From this apartment you will have access to a private garden, furnished with a barbecue oven for outdoor cooking, round table and chairs, perfect to enjoy a meal under the sun in the summer months! The garden is shared with your roommates and owners of the house who live on the ground and first floors.
The large bay windows on each side of the apartment (in bedroom 1 and 3) not only add a luxurious feel to the rooms but also allow in plenty of natural light to brighten the space. They overlook the garden and the street respectively. Bedroom 1 has access to a private living room with a single sized sofa bed. The large bedroom 3 has the luxury of a semi separate living area furnished with a desk and sofa.
You and your roommates will share the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary items to cook including a gas stove.
Prospect Lefferts Gardens is a mainly residential neighborhood in the central part of Brooklyn. Around your apartment you will find basic commodities like supermarkets, pharmacies and a post office as well as the following places of interest:
- Prospect Park: an entrance to this huge park is located 0.7 miles (1.12 km) west. The park offers many outdoor activities with a lake, baseball fields, jogging paths and music concerts during warm months. Here you can also find the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
- Restaurants: for Caribbean food, head to Culpepper's (0.2mi/400m), one of Brooklyn's most beloved Barbadian restaurants. For burgers, ribs or drinks, head to Lincoln Road and Flatbush Avenue to Lincoln Park Tavern, a cool and relaxing hang-out spot after a day spent outdoors (0.4mi/650m).
Public transportation is also convenient: several blocks away there are 2 subway stations, Prospect Park / Empire Boulevard / Flatbush Avenue (0.5mi/750m) and Winthrop Street / Nostrand Avenue (0.5mi/750m). They are served by lines B, Q and 2, 5 respectively connecting you to the rest of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Line Q will take you to lower Manhattan in only 4 stops!
