This thoughtfully furnished studio at East 26th Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan’s Gramercy neighborhood is the perfect accommodation for your upcoming stay in New York City. The apartment is on the second floor (equivalent to the European first floor) of a three-story walkup building. The prewar low-rise offers a buzzer system with intercom for your security. As a resident of the building, you will have access to the building’s shared garden, a picturesque spot to enjoy the outdoors.
The studio is distinguished by hardwood floors and beautiful exposed brick interior walls. The main living area offers a queen sized bed, and the sofa can be converted into a double bed in case of overnight guests. A television with cable is provided in addition to air conditioning during the hot summer months. Windows with northern exposure offer street views and allow natural light to enter the space.
Though compact, the kitchen has an excellent selection of appliances and all the equipment you’ll need for cooking during your visit. The bathroom offers a toilet and bathtub with shower. Please note that the heating system is radiator steam, typical for New York, which can cause loud clanging when in use during the cold season.
Gramercy is one of New York’s most sought-after residential neighborhoods, known for its central location and excellent selection of restaurants, bars, and cafes. For the basics, there is a D’Agostino Supermarket just a street away on Third Avenue. Just to the south is Union Square, renowned as one of the city’s busiest and most eclectic shopping districts, in addition to Union Square Park, a charming place to enjoy nice weather and people watch. Union Square also offers a farmer's market several days a week, as well as a Whole Foods Market. Your apartment is also within walking distance of popular attractions like the Empire State Building and Madison Square Park.
Moving quickly around the city can be an afterthought thanks to the nearby subway station at 23rd Street and Park Avenue South, where you can find the 6 train (1/2 a mile or approximately 800 meters away). The 6 train makes stops along the east side of Manhattan. You can also transfer to the 4, 5, N, Q, R, and L trains at Union Square, one stop to the south, making commutes to a variety of destinations simpler.
