The studio rental is situated at 14th Street and Third Avenue in the Union Square – Gramercy area of New York City. The low-rise building is a 5-floor walk-up (no elevator), with a number of similar hotel-like units housed within it. The apartments have basic standardized furnishings and amenities: a double bed, an air-conditioning unit, a TV with basic cable and Wi-Fi internet access.

There is a kitchenette area equipped with a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, and a small refrigerator. There is no oven. The minimal equipment of the studio allows you to have what you need to enjoy your stay in New York; a cup of coffee in the morning with toast, a quick lunch or some take-out dinner. The private bathroom gives you the option to get ready at anytime of the day, should you be an early bird or a late riser.

Please note that the speed of the Internet connection may be slowed down at times.

The location of these rentals is certainly one of the highlights. The closest subways stations are at 3rd Avenue and 14th Street where you can catch the L train or the Union Square Station, two avenues away, where you can hop on the 4, 5, 6, N, Q and R trains.

Washington Square Park, Stuyvesant Square, Madison Square Park are in surrounding neighborhoods and provide green space to the public in Manhattan's urban environment. Several museums are in close proximity: The Ukrainian Museum about Ukrainian History; the Birthplace of Theodore Roosevelt, former US President; the New Museum, where you can view cutting-edge contemporary art. The historical richness is all around. Should you wish to relax between walking tours, you can stop at Le Pain Quotidien on Broadway and 11th Street and sip a coffee and taste delicious tartines.

I enjoyed my stay in the apt very much. It was quiet, I had everything I needed and the employees were very friendly. However, things that could be improved are:

-provide a plate and cutlery for one person
-Improve quality of TV
-Internet could be faster (appreciate that it got faster after a couple of weeks though)

I enjoyed the apartment. The cooking amenities were somewhat limited. The internet connection was a little weak. I actually didn't sign on because my e-mail address wasn't accepted, but I saw that the connection was weak.

Other than that I really like the room.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and found our apartment comfortable. I am sorry that the cooking amenities were not at your convenience.

We do not have a full kitchen but the kitchenette we provide our guests with is equipped with all the essential appliances: a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, hot plates and a small refrigerator.

We upgraded the Internet and the connection is faster now. Thank you again for your comments and we hope we have the opportunity to accommodate you again on your future travels!

The apartment was well taken care of. I did not have to make a single complaint during the course of my stay at 14th Street, aside from some problems with internet.

First off, this is an extended stay hotel, not an apartment. They'll charge you a security deposit like an apartment, and you may pay a broker fee like it was an apartment, but it's not an apartment.

The water is not potable. It has a cloudy, brownish tinge coming out of the tap. I had to buy a filter immediately.

The "internet" amenity is one wireless network shared by the entire building. There were times it took me 30 minutes to connect, there were times I couldn't connect at all. Loading pictures took minutes. Forget streaming video like YouTube, it's completely out of the question. I did almost all of my browsing through my phone's 3G service, and even that had a terrible connection.

Housekeeping took my towels *twice*, even after I left note explaining some of the towels are mine, and that they will be left in specific places. I ended up losing all my towels to this building.

Management was sluggish or failed to respond to inquiries.

I would never stay here again.

While you were here, there was a problem with the water pipes which was resolved by the city immediately. Also, the internet has been improved and upgraded. We regularly clean each of our guest rooms to make sure they are neat.

They took their time with returning my deposit, but everything else was OK. The place is in a great location. Bed was comfortable, building is quit and secure.

If I hadn't moved to a friend's house, I would have stayed here. Being alone is nice, but it can be lonely sometimes.
