Description
2 Bedroom Apartment Rental in Greenwich Village (NY-15495)

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Manhattan, this two bedroom furnished duplex apartment is found at Thompson Street and Bleecker Street on the 6th floor of a 7-story elevator building. The 24-hour doorman building has laundry facilities on every floor for your convenience and this particular unit has two balconies!

Enter the air-conditioned apartment in the living room where details like the finished oak wood flooring compliment the white walls and serene decorations. This space is furnished with a sofa with side table, and a bookcase upon which a flat screen television sits. At one end of the room there is a dining table with seating for six and soundproof sliding glass doors that open to a balcony.

A few steps up from the living room is the kitchen, open to the living room. Equipped with Narva cabinets and Avanti stainless steel appliances, including a 4-burner gas stove and dishwasher, this kitchen would be the perfect place to prepare meals at home.

The oak wood flooring continues in the bedrooms, as do the all-white walls. Bedroom 1 is furnished with a queen size bed, bedside table, and has a window that gives views of the NYC skyline. Bedroom 2, furnished with a futon and a small bookcase has a window with the same view, and access to the second balcony.

The bathroom for the apartment has a tub with shower, tiled with Espi stone tile walls and Timor stone floors. The sink with polished chrome fixtures has cabinet storage underneath

Outside the two bedroom duplex find yourself in one of the most vibrant and residential sections of New York: the West Village. Known for its restaurant and boutique lined main streets with tree-lined residential streets in between, as well as its proximity to New York University, Greenwich Village is very convenient to the rest of the city.

If you are a fan of seafood try the Mussel Pot on Bleecker Street. Known for their different varieties of seasoned mussels, this Village establishment has garden seating that makes for a great spot on a nice night. For traditional American Bistro fare known for its brunch head to Jane Restaurant on West Houston. Zagat highly recommends the Vanilla Bean Crème Brulée French Toast or the Benedict Jane, a twist on the traditional eggs benedict served with a crabcake.

On a nice day walk just two blocks north to Washington Square Park where you can enjoy sunning yourself in the grass, cooling off by the fountain, or paying a visit to the Washington Square Arch, which was built to celebrate the centennial of George Washington's inauguration as the first President of the United States. Just two blocks south will bring you to SoHo, another popular New York neighborhood, where the endless possibilities continue!

To access Uptown Manhattan and the other boroughs of NYC there are many subway stations in the area conveniently located near the apartment. For access on line 6 head to the Bleecker Street / Lafayette Street Station or for the 1 train the Houston Street / Varick Street Station gives service on that line. For the N and R trains you can catch them at the Prince Street / Broadway Station and the West 4 Street / 6 Avenue Station gives access to the A, B, C, D, E, F, and M trains. For a smaller station with access on just the C and E trains try Spring Street / 6 Avenue Station.

This is a beautiful apartment furnished and decorated to a high standard in a extremely well-maintained and managed doorman building. The landlord is very accommodating and easy to work with and there is very little that anybody could want that is not provided in the apartment.

The surrounding area is lively at night and while there is some street noise it was rarely intrusive. If I have any criticism it is the heating which is centrally controlled by the building and was overly hot. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend this apartment, it is a rare find in NYC.
