The interior photos are from a model apartment in the building. The model apartment is representative of both the quality and style of apartments offered at this location. Description, floor plan and photos are for reference purposes only. Actual apartment's dimensions, layouts and furniture may vary.
These charming studio apartments are located in the Midtown East area of Manhattan, New York, known to many as Turtle Bay. The apartments are in a low-rise, walk-up building on East 44th Street and 2nd Avenue, whcih has a buzzer system available in the building to allow entry to your guests.
As you step into these studio apartments, you will see the kitchen area is one one end, and the sleeping area is on the other, with a sitting section in between. The cozy kitchen area is topped with cabinets and includes a granite kitchen counter. While there is a microwave and a small refrigerator, there is no oven or electric burner, so please note that your cooking options may be limited to simple meals. Turning away from the kitchen is an intimate white dining table that seats two.
As you continue into the living area, you'll see a bold contrast between the old and the new. Exposed brick and a decorative fireplace remind you that this building is a prewar construction, but the modern décor keeps the space looking fresh. The sitting area faces the wall-mounted flat screen TV, a convenient space- saver, and the queen bed is situated in front of the windows.
Depending on the unit, the bathroom will either have a shower stall or a bathtub in addition to the sink and W/C.
These studios are found in the part of Midtown known as Turtle Bay, an area characterized by the presence of major landmarks like the United Nations Headquarters and the Chrysler Building. The UN is just a block from the building, with the East River and Roosevelt Island setting the landscape behind it. To the West, you will find the infamous Grand Central Station and the MetLife Building (3 blocks away). The area surrounding Grand Central is great for shopping, with Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue being lined with stores. You have everything from Coach to Urban Outfitters to Brooks Brothers, so don't hesitate to take a stroll and window shop! For day-to-day needs, 2nd Avenue, around the corner from our apartment, has delis, banks and a Duane Reade pharmacy/convenience store.
To further explore New York City, you can take the 4/5/6 and 7 and S trains at Grand Central station on 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue, which is also a great transit hub for other trains when you need to leave the city!

Review by: Kefilwe Shadi A., Apr 01 2013 From: Botswana, Apartment Rental: 2 months |
My first impression was one of great disappointment. the bath and toilet were dirty, even though the cleaner was sent to clean the next day, I still cleaned because I could not spend the first night in an unhygienic environment. The bathroom fittings need to be attended to, as well as the tiles on the bathroom floor. Some of the floor boards in the rest of the apartment also need repairs. The kitchenette is not functional, the stove is high up on a shelf that makes it impossible to cook on. |

Thanks for your review, April. The apartment was cleaned as soon as the previous tenant moved out. You had moved in 2 weeks later therefore the water in the toilet turned a little yellow. This is the reason why you thought the bathroom was not clean. I immediately sent the cleaner to take care of it. We should have anyways sent our cleaner to refresh the place. |
