Many people dream of living in the Midtown area, providing easy access to both lower and upper Manhattan and close to many of NYC's most famous sights, like Park Avenue, Central Park, the Museum Mile and Times Square. This apartment building is on East 57th Street and 1st Avenue, just a block west of the East River. The United Nations Headquarters, New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering all similarly border the East River, and you can take the 1st Avenue or 2nd Avenue buses to commute to these institutions quickly. Also in the area is the Roosevelt Island Tram, which travels above ground to give access to the island in the middle of the river, between the Upper East Side and the borough of Queens, and is a great opportunity to get an aerial view of the city. As for daily needs, you have a Duane Reade pharmacy just around the corner and a supermarket two blocks north. As you stroll east, you'll pass more and more mainstream shopping options, and plenty of small eateries to choose from.
The nearest subway station is at Lexington Avenue and 59th Street, giving access to the 4/5/6 and N/Q/R lines. These trains run both up and downtown, as well as to Manhattan's west side, giving you flexibility for your travel needs beyond Midtown East!
