Live like a local in NYC with this contemporary one bedroom apartment in the ultra-trendy area of the Lower East Side, Manhattan!
Located on Rivington Street & Suffolk Street, the one bedroom apartment sits on the 3rd floor (considered 2nd in Europe) of a 5-story mid-rise building built in 1900. A security system protects the premise. There is a laundry room in the building that is shared with all tenants.
This home-away-from-home is filled with colorful personality. Offering a bohemian ambiance, it is decorated with wall art and intricate area rugs. The living room is long and divided into three sections: the dining area, the living area, and the TV room. The living area and the TV room are comprised of a futon (full-sized) across from a flat-screen cable television with home theater system, various chairs and tables, and a desk for workspace under bookshelves lined with literature. The dining room offers a wooden dining table for four guests next to two windows that brighten the space with midday sun. Naturally, this room is next to the kitchen: spacious and open, it offers stainless steel appliances and a long wooden countertop great for prepping meals. For added convenience, a dishwasher is available. Finally, the bedroom embraces the same ambiance as the rest of the house: modern yet bohemian. It includes a queen-sized four-poster bed, large closet, wooden drawers, and a television for indoor entertainment.
The Lower East Side of New York is one of the trendiest areas of the Big Apple today. Beloved by locals, it was once the site of tenement buildings and the Tompkins Square Park Riot of 1988. Today it is quite a different environment, though it still attracts artists and people of the alternative scene. Most come here for the nightlife – Alphabet City (0.8mi/1.2km) is filled with popular bars and clubs. Nearer to the apartment, check out live music at The Bowery Ballroom (0.4mi/700m) and grab a drink at Parkside Lounge (0.3mi/450m), which hosts live music and poetry events. Learn about the history of the Lower East Side at the Tenement Museum (0.3mi/400m), or view the art at the New Museum (0.5mi/750m). Looking to relax in the sun? There are many parks in the area. We suggest heading to Sara D. Roosevelt Park (0.3mi/450m).
For public transportation around Manhattan use the subway station at Delancey Street / Essex Street serving the F, J, M, Z trains (0.1mi/240m).
