The owners where so welcoming when we first arrived to the apartment for some of my friends it was there first time in New York so it made them feel right at home. They had a big welcoming sign in the kitchen with all our names on it they really went above and beyond. The apartment was absolutely beautiful and suited our needs considerably. I honestly could not fault it 10/10.

THE WORST APARTMENT EVER!
The owners are the most impolite people I have ever known!
The location is horrible! The neighbors are all drug dealers, and play super loud music all day and all night! The security deposit that we paid to the owner (3000$) the owner refused to give it back. And we just stayed for 3 months... we are 4 girls comming from Paris studying fashion and luxury marketing,

This is in response to the review that Andrea posted regarding her experience at our apartment located at Stuyvesant Ave & Halsey Street, Brooklyn New York. I feel that it is very unfortunate that Andrea would leave such a terrible review about me and my wife. As we are with every guest that stays at our apartment, we were extremely accommodating to these four young ladies. Indeed this is a three bedroom apartment, we typically host three tenants. This is done so that all of the tenants can enjoy having their own space if needed. First, we were asked if we would put an extra bed in one of the rooms to accommodate the fourth person at our cost and second, to do this for the same rate that we would charge for three guests. Because of our relationship with New York Habitat we said yes without hesitation. We found the group to be very nice although we only met two of them when they initially arrived. We had a few bumps getting the initial security deposit and first months rent as there were issues on their part getting it to us, but we worked through it with them. The place was immaculately clean when they arrived, including all of the appliances as well as the inside of both the microwave and refrigerator, which is the way I deliver the apartment to all of my guest. I have several reviews mention how clean the place was upon their arrival which I am happy to share. All of the appliances are less than 2 years old and very well kept. Whenever I welcome a guest I go over house rules and one of the things I mention with every stay is that (you please refrain from using anything abrasive on the appliances as I do not want them to get scratched). The ladies accepted the apartment with no complaints nor did we ever receive a complaint from them during their entire stay. The neighborhood for which Andrea referred to as being horrible with drug dealers is Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn, one of the most sought out neighborhoods in the New York City area, with multimillion dollar properties owned by professionals such as doctors, lawyers, politicians, artist, entertainers and just good hard working people.

We often had problems with at least two of the tenants with getting the rent on time and in full. I would ask each month for them to maybe wire the rent a little earlier so that we could get it on time but if we got it after the 5th of the month they needed to include the $50 late fee. I also would ask that they include the wire fee so that we would not get hit with it, but neither of the two complied.

Andrea was leaving a day before everyone else and wanted us to inspect the apartment that day and give her back her portion of the deposit in cash that day. We explained that we could not do that because we had to wait for everyone to leave so we could inspect the apartment to make sure there was no damage and also make sure there was no outstanding utility bills, I believe this is when things went bad. Andrea was not happy with my response. After all of the ladies left and I went to inspect the apartment I noticed that the front of the microwave was severely damaged by what appeared to be an attempt to clean it with an abrasive chemical, but for the most part the apartment was in good condition. I thanked Andrea for taking care of the apartment and told her the only thing I noticed was the damage to the microwave and that I would be replacing the microwave and taking it out of the security deposit (I would provide a receipt of the replacement which I did). I also told her I was deducting the fees that were charged to us as well as the late fee for the one young lady who paid the rent late twice and that I needed to wait for the final utility bill to make sure there were no charges to us and then I would forward the deposit via a wire to them they same way we received it. Andrea also felt that they should not have had to pay the full cost, but I had to pay the full cost to purchase something that I already purchased.

I have no ill will towards these ladies as overall they were pleasant. I also realize that they are still very young and have some maturing to do as I have a child their age. I would just have liked for Andrea and her group to take responsibility for the damage and fees and give us a fair review which she did not do.

I wish these ladies well with their future endeavors. Kevin & Choddie
