This area has a youthful vibe, as it is just little over a block from City College, and just 2 short subway stops from Columbia University. With Broadway just around the corner, there are plenty of convenience stores nearby, including the huge Fairway Supermarket (3 blocks south from the apartment). Riverside Park is only one block away, where you can enjoy a view of the Hudson River and enjoy walking on the hills or jogging along the riverbank.
The nearest subway is just one block away and serves 1 train at 137th Street - City College. This train runs south through the Upper West Side to Midtown all the way to Downtown Manhattan, making city travel a little simpler.
