Located on Canal Street, this apartment is on the fifth floor of a prewar walk-up building. Access is gained to the apartment through metal doors. It has wood floors, large windows and a big roof terrace with a great view of downtown New York City. There is a washer in the apartment and there is the laundromat one block away as well. The apartment is cleaned by a cleaning service once a week. The apartment also has wireless DSL Internet. The apartment has five rooms for rent, some of which are rented out on a long-term roommate basis and others on a short-term nightly basis. The first room has two levels. It has a sofa bed on the lower level. There is a ladder to the second level. There is a little desk and built in shelves. The second room has a sofa bed, a little desk and a rack for clothing. The third room is a smaller space. The room has a desk and a shelf for some personal items. The ceiling is low in this room. It is approximately 1m55 (5'1"). So you may not be able to completely stand in this room. The fourth room has a sofa bed, a little desk, a rack for clothing and some shelves. The fifth room has a sofa bed, a little desk, a rack for clothing and two long shelves. The living room is basically a big artist's studio. There is artwork on the walls, all created by the tenant. It is lightly furnished with a few chairs and a coffee table. There is a futon, and stereo and Internet access. The bathroom has a shower, a sink, a WC and a window. The open kitchen comes with a refrigerator, a sink, a stove, and a washing machine for clothes. The owner of this apartment organizes gallery showings and social gatherings from time to time in the common areas of the apartment. Guests under Room Share and B&B rentals are welcome to participate. The building is located in Chinatown and SoHo, Little Italy and Tribeca are all within walking distance. This area has a lot of clothing stores on Broadway, art galleries and boutiques in SoHo and restaurants in Little Italy and Chinatown. Great discount shopping can be found along Canal Street, including great deals on fruit, vegetables and fresh fish. Many subway lines can be accessed from Canal Street stations: #1 at Canal Street and Varick Street, #A, C, E on Canal Street and 6th Avenue, #J, M, N, Q, R, W, Z, 6 on Canal Street and Broadway/Lafayette Street.
