first of all I would like to talk about the apartment in general, and then I would like to add something about the owner.
the apartment, located at the border of Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy, is very cosy. the living room is quite large and suitable for many people with the 3 sofas. the kitchen is very nice and equipped with a regular oven, a microwave and small stove.
the bathroom, although small, is in good condition. the bedrooms are of average dimensions but easy to use for a couple, furthermore the presence of "closets" eliminates the problem of where to place clothes and even suitcases.

the area is quiet, regardless of the various descriptions that present it as dangerous and less 'livable', I found it full of character thanks to the many brownstones, typical houses in Brooklyn. besides all that, I still suggest to travel towards Manhattan and not towards Queens because the nearby neighborhoods of Brownsville and East New York are not very safe and I would avoid them. 5 blocks away, between Fulton and Nostrand Avenue there is the subway line A and C, but if you go south, 7 blocks away you can find the subway line 3. I still recommend, due to vicinity, to catch the bus right outside the house and to reach line A or C, but with the A you will reach Manhattan within 15 minutes.

now let's talk about the owners. the lady, Leslie, is a very nice person but often very aggressive and "pain in the ass". practically she forbids you to open the windows, of both the house and the rooms, so that there is no air circulation because of that. there is a thermostat that besides heating or cooling the environment, I think, it does not recycle the house air at all. the owner is always, all the time in the house, unless you decide to rent the whole house for yourselves. She lives in the basement below. often I found myself with my girlfriend inside the house with this woman who was ironing her clothes, or was watching TV or using the small stove, making it impossible for us to use it.

practically, someone who wants to live like me for 3 months in America and feel independent, will find the house owner inside who is more of a "pain" than my mother, and believe me, it's not nice. furthermore, even though cleaning is my priority, she will impose you to wash the dishes immediately after you use them, so that you will not have any time to relax after the meal, not even to smoke a cigarette, as you cannot smoke inside the house and remember, you cannot open the windows!!!

my dear friends, if it wasn't for the excessive presence of the owner inside the house, I would have had a much more pleasant time, because the house is really nice. but if you want to live the nightlife in Manhattan I suggest you find a closer solution, but obviously more expensive.

Have a good stay in the Big Apple

This feedback was shared with the owner. She explained that she wants the windows to be kept closed because the apartment is on the ground floor and it could make the apartment vulnerable to intruders. She added that there is an air conditioner that is programmed, and opening the windows could disrupt it. Regarding the appliances, the owner said that she mostly uses them in the evening, not in the morning.
