I really enjoyed my 4-months stay in this appartment. The location is one of its main advantages: both express and local trains are nearby and provide an excellent connection. Although living uptown in Harlem you do not feel to be off the vivid midtown. The A and D will bring you there in a couple of minutes.

The neighborhood is absolutely safe, no worries about that. It is a great experience to live near the famous 125th street with jazzbars, the Apollo, etc. If you like to go for a run, the Central Park is not far away too. Furthermore, it is a perfect place for Columbia students. To get to campus you just need to cross the nice Morningside Park, at night the free shuttle will bring you back almost to your door.

The owner is very nice and helpful in case if any further concerns. The room has a good size, the furniture, however, is not state-of-the-art and could be a little more comfortable. Anyway, it is okay with regard to Manhattan's housing situation. You have a bathroom that is used almost on your own.

The building looks like a hotel and is very welcoming. All in all, I can recommend this appartement to anyone considering living there. I left with good memories.

The photos on the website do not match the actual condition of the apartment at all, more especially the room that I stayed in.

The bedroom I was supposed to have was full of the host roommate's stuff and the walk-in closet is locked as it belongs the host roommate.

Besides, the price and the room on New York Habitat website are not the ones the host roommate wants. It wasn't nice when I got there to have to 'negotiate' my bedroom and the price whilst I thought everything was clear and settled in the agreement.

A part from that the host roommate's attitude at the beginning of my stay, everything went very well. The host roommate was friendly. Our apartment share went smoothly. Too bad it started off this way.

In response to the confusion regarding the apartment information: The website's photos are accurate.

The problem was the displaying price. Since last year, there are two rooms for rent. There is one for 1500 and second one for 1100. It was communicated to New York Habitat, about the adjustment, but apparently the information was not modified accordingly on the webpage. Since information has not been modified, client had the perception that she will get the first room for the price of the second.

Upon client's arrival, and in my willingness to accommodate her, she was given the 1600 room for the 1100. New York Habitat was communicated immediately about this issue, and kindly asked to update information, for these situations no to happen again. Client was never asked to negotiate for room pricing, as renting contract has been signed already.

Yes, in the closet there were some of my belongings as that room was not being rented and as such, there was not enough time to accommodate them. Client was provided with brand new furniture to store her belongings.

I apologize to the client on behalf of New York Habitat for lack of accuracy on price displaying. Last but least, nevertheless client was accommodated and informed accordingly, I am sorry that my French skills are limited and as such, I was not able to efficiently communicate these issues to client.

Note: Room price has been changed as of 6/2012

first room: 1600
second room: 1200

NYH file had not been immediately updated after the owner warned us of the change in price.

We communicated with the owner and corrected our information as soon as we received this feedback.

Regarding the confusion with the rooms, there was a misunderstanding: our agent offered room 1 for $1100 but it appears that client thought we offered room 2. We do apologize about the inconvenience.
