Located in Hamilton Heights at the northwestern end of Manhattan in New York City, this fully furnished room to rent in a shared two bedroom apartment offers all the comfort and privacy with a private bathroom. This apartment is located on a 4th floor (considered 3rd by Europeans) of a mid-rise modern building from 2005 with 24 hours doorman and a shared courtyard.

The room for rent (Bedroom 1 in photos and floorplan) has a queen size platform bed, a desk and closet space to store your belongings out of sight. Two windows allow in natural light and offer views of the street. The private full bathroom is situated across the hall from the bedroom.

The kitchen and living room are shared with the roommate. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a stainless steel double-door refrigerator, gas stove with microwave atop, and the convenience of a dishwasher. The living room has two windows and a flat screen TV with basic cable channels.

This fully furnished apartment share is located at Bradhurst Avenue & 147th Street in Hamilton Heights, a historic area of Harlem in Uptown Manhattan. Please note that on weekends, street activity or police sirens can be heard. Enjoy Jackie Robinson Park, which is found just across the street from the apartment. The City College of New York is within walking distance, or just 1 subway stop away, and Columbia University is only 2 or 3 stops away. There is a Pathmark Supermarket, Duane Reade pharmacy and a Starbucks just two blocks south on 145th Street, as well as other restaurants and convenience stores.

The A/B/C/D subway station (145 Street / Saint Nicholas Avenue) is less than 4 blocks away, and has both express and local trains, making the commute to lower Manhattan simple. The 3 line is also about 4 blocks in the other direction.

Apartment is close to public transportation and very convenient. The building has a concierge and that is also convenient. The landlord was very nice, very kind and will work with your needs. Cannot thank her enough for all the help she provided.
The neighborhood is vibrant but will hear noises throughout the year.

Dear Yoko,
We are glad to read your stay was very good!
We have checked the noise issue you have raised with the owner. She said it was street activity on weekends or police sirens. We will monitor this issue in the future and inform future tenants. We are sorry you have been bothered by this.
Thank you for your review.
Best,

The room has queen size bed which is great. I liked the fact that towels were provided. The living room is a bit messy and the kitchen is always stinky for some reason. Roommate makes a mess in the kitchen but she leaves every comment in the notecard. She tends to look down upon person. It's not the safest neighborhood but I didn't go through any incident.

This room share maybe was not a good fit unfortunately.
Notes had to be placed in the kitchen as reminders, due to house rules not being followed.
To please clean sink ( food constantly left in sink). To please clean stove and counters after cooking (residue remained on the counter and stove from cooking their meals). Garbage was not removed from the kitchen area.
Neighborhood is a good environment as can be in NYC near all forms transportation.
There is a Police precinct located around the corner.
I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

I have been very lucky to find a room in this lady's appartment with a private bathroom. She was very helpfull and always cheerful. She always respected the privacy of each. The appartment is practical, close the subway with express lines, the supermarket, .... The area is quiet and the building is very clean withe a doorman.

I had a great stay at this apartment in New York. The lady I was living with was very nice and helpful and always respected my privacy.

The bedroom was very spacious and had enough storage room for all my things. I especially liked that I had my own bathroom.

The apartment itself was very quiet, but of course the general buzz of the city (police cars, firefighters, etc.) was around at all times.

The apartment was really close to the next subway station (maybe 5 minutes) and had a Starbucks, Bank of America and 24/7 supermarket right around the corner, which was great!
