I love the location of the apartment, I could get into the city really quickly and there was great access to the trains and buses. The building didn't have many windows that could open, which was difficult during the summer because the heat got trapped. Roaches in the kitchen, a lot of them. Bathroom was clean, it was fine, only a couple of roaches. Some neighbors of different backgrounds, different ethnicities, sometimes screaming at night, either reprimanding kids or what not but, it hard to fall asleep. Whole experience: No overnight guests, got to the point where I couldn't bring people over at all. It turned into something unnecessary, because it should've been clear in the contract that no people at all. It was my mother wanting to check in and I couldn't have her over. The owner's mother stayed in the apartment, which I was fine with, but it was a big problem that my mother wanted to come over (during the day), it was unnecessary. Owner can't change their mind after signing
contact, if so we would need to renegotiate. Beatrice was helpful with the language barrier. When renting to other people it's no longer your home, but our home, we agreed upon the contract, and now you're trying to add things on top of that, not right. Overall neighborhood quiet, neighborhood great, most people friendly, people don't really pay attention, they're in their own world, I did like that. I did like the laundry in the building, it was convenient. The apartment was convenient to where I was working, that's why I didn't give it up.

Thank you Carlton for your review and for choosing my apartment. I'm glad that you found it convenient for getting into Manhattan. You are right that it can get a little hot in summer with the windows closed in spite of having air conditioning in the room. I will see what can be done to make it more comfortable. I'm sorry about the roaches issue that you encountered. Believe me I did not like to see any pest in my apartment, so I did my best to resolve this inconvenience quickly. As for the guest policy, I apologize that it wasn't clear at the start. In the future, I will be sure to stick to the guest policy in the contract. I want my roommates to feel welcomed, so I understand that this is important. I am glad that you enjoyed the neighborhood and the convenience of my apartment.

I lived there from 12/03/2011 till 01/29/ 2012, and my experience was great. Amanda provided a clean and spacious living condition. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome, gave me a tour of the neighborhood on my first day, told me where I could buy transit cars to ride the train, where the grocery store was, everything.

She always took time out of her day to see if I was okay or if I had questions that she could help me with to make my stay better. She constantly offered food whenever she would prepare her dinner, and made me feel like that was my home as well.

As a medical student I appreciated the peace, and the kindness that she showed me and my family (my sister and father). She even let my sister stay with me for a couple of days during the Christmas holiday. I speak English, so even though Spanish was her native language she spoke English with me, and even helped me learn some Spanish, which helped me communicate with my patients.

My other landlords were in Brooklyn because I had to move to Brooklyn to do rotations; I lived with a lady named Leslie and a lady named Diane in 2012. But it was because my experience with Amanda was so great that I even tried you guys again, and hands down Amanda was the best in comparison to the rest.

Room was big and clean The roommate wasn't very friendly but it may have been a communication thing since we did not speak the same language.

Location is very close to the train but very far from the rest of New York. If you want to stay in the Bronx and never go into Manhattan then it's prime location.

Dear Robert, thank you for sharing your concerns. I am a very friendly and caring person. I apologize for you mistaking our cultural differences for being rude.

I do not mean any harm. The apartment is located close to several subway stations to enable you to get around the different neighborhoods of New York City.

I am happy that you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you again in the future.

Sincerely, Amanda
