Description
Room for Rent Studio in Upper West Side (NY-14891)
Studio, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

This is a model room. It reflects both the quality and the style of the rooms we offer at this location. The individual rooms are a variation of this one with some differences in layout and exposure.

The room to rent is situated on Broadway and 99th Street, Upper West Side in New York, within a 7-floor building which has an elevator. It also has the following amenities: A laundry room in the basement, which is coin-operated as well as a reception area at the entrance where someone is on duty 24 hours a day.

The room is furnished with a double bed and a smartTV. The room is outfitted with a mini refrigerator to store food. It also features an air-conditioning unit to cool down the space when you feel too warm during the summer, and internet access to log on to the web for study or entertainment purposes.

The shared kitchen area on each floor makes the experience friendly by sharing it with the occupants of 17 rooms. There is a total of three bathrooms to be shared with 13 other rooms. Please note that towels are not provided. There are no kitchen supplies provided, but utensils, pots, pans and other kitchen necessities can be purchased in many different stores such as Gristede’s or the Associated Supermarket.

Situated in Manhattan on the Upper West Side, a short walk away from Central Park, it is the biggest public park of NYC. You can have many activities there from bird watching, to boating on the pond, or even participating in races. Central Park has also seasonal events you should include in your schedule such as concerts and art exhibitions. For nightlife, many bars and cafes are located a few blocks from the premises where you can enjoy an array of different vibes from dive bars like Abbey Pub to jazz clubs like SMOKE. If you wish to travel around, the red line (1, 2, 3 trains) is three blocks away at 96th Street station.

Please note that this furnished unit offers apartment-style accommodations with a communal kitchen environment. The occupant should not expect to have the same experience as a regular rental in a New York City residential apartment. It is also important to note that depending on the room's placement within the building, some traffic noise from Broadway may travel into the unit.

Please note that some noise can be heard in the rooms facing the street.

The location is excellent, between two subway stations (96 st. and 103 st.). If you walk some blocks, you'll find two other stations of a different line, which is very important in NY.
Right in the corner, you'll find supermarkets, a pharmacy, some restaurants and stores. It's really well located.
Two streets to the right, the Riverside Park, one of my favorite places in NY. Three streets to the right, the Central Park, that needs no introduction. In just a few minutes you can go to most places in the city. The neighborhood is very safe, even when you come back late.
About the room: my room was comfortable, no frills. The staff was very objective and efficient. The shared bathroom was not a problem: it was always clean and almost always available.
A suggestion: there could be a common area for guests, like a hall, a mess room or an office, for example.
Long story short: the experience was definitely positive and I recommend the apartment.
