Let me preface this by saying that the value of the room was a deal for someone like me that was moving to NYC without a job lined up and needed a cheap place to stay. The roommates, and there were 2 of them as this listing fails to mention, were some of the shadiest people I've ever dealt with.

They refused to let me pay the rent with checks and got insulted when I asked for receipts because I was paying in CASH. This "insult" later led to passive aggressive behavior and general contempt from these roommates to the point that I avoided being home as much as possible. This is on top of the loud yelling I would overhear constantly, the cats vomiting in the living room, and the endless swarm of flies in the kitchen because of opened cat food being left sitting all day.

The first week I was living here the apartment had bed bugs. You've been warned.

I'm sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. There were not two roommates, but my boyfriend stays over often. I signed the book of receipts that you brought to me regarding the rent and I asked for a copy of it as well. I'm sorry that you felt that I was unfriendly. I treated you like family and introduced you to my family.

Regarding the cat food that was left out, I just left out a plate of dry food because I have a cat and the cat needs to eat. I know that you enjoyed playing with my cat.

You are right, there was a bedbug infestation in my building as well as in three buildings on the block and around the corner. The landlord took care of it right away and fumigated the building. I threw out all of the furniture, including the full-sized bed in your room, and bought you a new twin-sized bed.

There is no longer any problem.
