Situated on Amsterdam Avenue and 82nd Street, this is not just a great location, it’s a great apartment share! The two bedroom apartment on the Upper West Side shares the kitchen and bathroom but leaves you a private living room and bedroom. The shared apartment is on the 3rd floor of a prewar, walk-up building with a buzzer/intercom system for guests.
Prewar details add charm to this apartment share, complimented by the contemporary furnishings. The available bedroom is accessible via the private living area, both are lined with hardwood floors. The living room includes a sitting area with a double size futon couch, perfect for reading or homework. A transom window allows light to filter in from the bedroom windows, and there is a closet for storing clothes. Sliding doors lead to the bedroom, you will find a queen size bed facing a flat screen TV and a desk. Two windows let natural light in and overlook the street.
The shared areas are on the other side of the apartment: the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen has a classic NYC vibe, with an unusual shape but fully equipped, including a dishwasher, microwave and small stove. The bathroom has a combination bathtub/shower. Both have windows and are shared with the roommate in Bedroom 2.
Though you may not want to leave, outside this room for rent you will find one of Manhattan’s most popular neighborhoods: the Upper West Side of Manhattan! Known from countless Seinfeld episodes and for its proximity to Columbia University (5 stops from the apartment), the Lincoln Center (2 stops) and Central Park (.5mi/750m), this large area has a laid back vibe packed to the brim with cultural opportunities. Celebrities like Madonna, Spike Lee and Alec Baldwin have all chosen to make their homes in this part of New York. For everyday needs, Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway (one street west) both are local thoroughfares, lined with shops like Barnes & Noble, cafes and restaurants.
This room for rent also benefits from having 3 subway lines in the area! The nearest subway stop serves the 1 train (at 79th Street and Broadway), making express stops along the west side (.3 mi/450m). The B and C lines are also nearby at the Museum of Natural History (.5 mi/750m).

I had a great experience in this apartment for 10 months. The owner was always very kind, caring and respectful. All my needs were always met promptly. The apartment is very well located, with many restaurants, PUBs, markets and grocery stores nearby. There are two metro lines nearby and the apartment is also close to Central Park and Riverside Park by walking. Upper West Side is a beautiful and safety area in Manhattan. I would certainly recommend this apartment to others. |
