LOCATION: New York City, in the heart of Greenwich Village. The apartment is located in the back of the building. Thus it is very quiet. It is 2-3 blocks from major subway stations that allows quick access to the rest of New York City.
It has a small, private backyard where you can lounge and enjoy the nice weather during the day or in the evening. There are 2 outside chairs and a barbecue in the yard.
SIZE: This is a studio apartment in on the 1st floor of the building with 1 bathroom and an area of approximately 400 square feet. It sleeps 2 adults comfortably.
BUILDING: The front door is kept locked at all times and entry is with a key and by intercom for welcome guests. There is full-service and coin operated laundry located directly across the street. The apartment is on the first floor of a 5-story building. There is no doorman, but a good security system. You need your own key to open the front door.
INTERIOR: The apartment is nicely furnished, has high ceilings and sufficient closet space available. There is a very comfortable queen-size bed and a leather sofa in the living area. There is also a color television with VCR, and basic cable. The bathroom includes a full bath (shower and tub) and a toilet. The kitchen is separate from the living space and is equipped with a sink, fridge, freezer and sufficient counter space, pots and pans. Ivory painted walls, curtains, and photographs line the walls and add to the cozy, village atmosphere. .
NEIGHBORHOOD: Any guidebook of New York will tell you not to miss Greenwich Village, which holds more charm and history than any other New York neighborhood. It is also one of the urban area, with very few high-rise buildings, cobblestone streets and old-world food stores, specialty food, clothing and gift boutiques. Supermarket, deli, newspaper store, shoemaker, dry cleaner, cute coffee shop/bakery are all within 50-100 yards from front door. Washington Square Park and other historic sites (architectural, cultural and musical) are 3-10 minutes away by foot. Soho, Chinatown, Little Italy, South Street Seaport and Wall Street are only 5-25 minute walk away, or easily accessible by subway, bus or taxi.
OTHER: Public transportation is easily accessible. 1 ½ blocks from the A, C, E, B, D, Q, and F subway lines. 3 blocks from the 1/9 and 2 or 3 subway lines. Buses north, up 6th Avenue, stop around the corner, buses south, down 7th Avenue, stop down the block. Taxis are easily available 24 hours a day.
