In the heart of the Upper West Side, this studio apartment is easily accessible and is located on the second floor of a four story brownstone. There is no elevator. The building is pre-war on a relatively quiet yet well traveled tree lined street. The front door is kept locked and entry is with your own key or, for visitors, through an intercom system.
Airy and spacious, it has high ceilings with a decorative fireplace and 3 bay windows facing north . Overall, the place has old world charm but is complete with new world conveniences. Well heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer, one is never left wanting for comfort. The entranceway greets you with a closet and a full size mirror. The sleeping area is five steps up with a built in ladder. This romantic queen sized loft bed is decorated with a white lace canope and is equipped with a remote for the stereo and tape deck. Beneath the loft is a convertible love seat which folds out into a single bed . Linens are provided for all. There is an 26 inch flat screen TV complete with a DVD pl;ayer and cable. The dining room table is located by the bay windows which has solid oak shutters and hanging green plants. Off to one side is a cozy study area with book cases and a desk to work at. To the other side is a large non working fire place with a mantle shelf decorated with antiques and a mantle mirror.
There is a very nice piano that people can use also in the apartment.
The kitchen area is complete with stove, oven and refrigerator and includes all necessary cook wear, utensils and dishes housed in a handsome rose wood stained cabinet with glass windows. The bathroom includes a bathtub with a shower and an oak toilet seat. All towels provided.
THERE IS A CAT IN THE APARTMENT TO LOOK AFTER.
A few steps away is Central Park with rolling grassy knolls and trees, tennis courts and the reservoir, well known for its ducks and runners who enjoy the path for jogging. Starting one block away is an array of shops for marketing from health food to gourmet delights and baked goods. Also within the same perimeter are wonderful ethnic restaurants which can be found all around. A stroll through Central Park or a short bus ride accross the park will take you directly to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or the Guggenheim and all the rest of the famous and not so famous museums on Museum Mile.
Public transportation is just down the street at the corner of 96th Street and Central Park West. Here you have the option of busses or the subway C or B lines which can take you straight to Times Square and or connect very conveniently with most other lines in the City. Or, if you prefer you can hail a taxi any time just in front of the building.
