One-bedroom railroad apartment on the lively St. Marks Place
|
A very nice one-bedroom apartment in the heart of the bohemian East Village, which is a youthful and busy neighborhood on Saint Marks Place. The apartment is in a prewar, walk-up building (two flights of stairs) with a security system. This apartment is approximately 500 square feet and has excellent access to subways and buses.
The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel refrigerator, stove, and microwave. There is also a coffeemaker, an indoor grill and a toaster. Next to the kitchen is the bathroom with a shower & bath-tub, a washbasin, and a separate WC with a window. Towels and hair dryer are provided.
The living area has air conditioning with remote control and an antique chandelier, which is very intimate. In the living room, the sofa can be opened into a queen size bed. There is a small table, two ottomans and a chest for storing your belongings. Two tall windows face the street and bring in lots of sun light. There is a terrific view from the living room of busy local life on the street.
The bedroom features a full size bed with tempurpedic mattress cover and pillows. A TV, a VCR and a DVD player are provided along with a desk for writing and planning your day. A spacious closet separates the sleeping area from the living area. There is a full size mattress in a loft space up five steps as a third cozy sleeping area if needed.
No smoking permitted. Safety features include window gate, fire escape, and fire extinguisher.
St Marks Place is a very lively street 24 hours a day! There are many ethnic restaurants, bars, and clubs up and down the street. The East Village is a perfect neighborhood for the young at heart, as it is a busy and lively street all day and night. There are many Off-Broadway theaters, unique boutiques, and trendy coffeehouses. The beautiful Tompkins Square Park is just 5 minutes away. Union Square and its transit hub are 8 minutes by foot, where you will find a large Whole Foods Organic Market. Internet café is one block away. There are movie theaters, thrift shops, tattoo parlors, music shops and antique stores. The neighborhood is a great location but extremely noisy on the weekends.
Subways: 6 train at Astor Place, F train at 2nd Avenue and Houston Street, L train at 14th Street and Third avenue. R & W trains at 8th Street and Broadway and 4,5,6, N, R, and W trains at Union Square (6 blocks away)
