One Bedroom Apartment in Greenwich Village
LOCATION: New York City; Greenwich Village; a few blocks from Washington Square on 10th Street between 5th and 6th avenues.

SIZE: 1 bedroom, 1 bath with an area of approximately 550 square feet. The apartment can sleep two people comfortably.

BUILDING: A prewar WALK-UP building with Intercom security system. The front door of the building is kept locked so entry is with your own key. The apartment is located on the FOURTH floor.

INTERIOR: The apartment is fully furnished. You will find all the essentials. In the living-room, there is a decorative fireplace and antique furniture that gives a very homey feel to the whole place. The bedroom is furnished with a double-size bed, a TV with cable and a VCR. The kitchen opens up to the living room, and comes fully equipped. Pots, pans and dinnerware for 2 are provided. The bathroom is standard NYC size and has a shower and tub. Closet space will be provided, as will towels and sheets.

NEIGHBORHOOD: The building is between lower Fifth and Sixth Avenues, a stretch of early-20th century buildings that is the backbone of elegant Greenwich Village. In a two-minute walk you can be in: Washington Square Park, Balducci's (the famed grocery at 6th Avenue & 9th St.), the Jefferson Market Library, or any spot in the NYU area. In five minutes, you can walk to: the West Village (hotspot for charming bars, restaurants, clubs and theaters), the East Village (hotspot for hip bars, restaurants, clubs and theaters), or Union Square. In a ten minute walk you can be in Soho or Chelsea, the new center of the city's gallery scene. Consult any guidebook for the goings-on in these neighborhoods. There is a Post-office on the same street between 5th & 6th Avenues. Citibank, Chase Manhattan, and other banks are within several blocks.

TRANSPORTATION: The building is five minutes (walking) from every major subway line in the city, including the A-C-E-B-D-Q-F (at 6th Ave. and 8th St. - called the "West 4th St." stop on maps) the N-R (at Broadway and 8th), the 6 (at Astor Place and Lafayette), or the 1-9 (at Christopher St. and 7th Ave.). Also a short walk, between five and ten minutes, are the 1-9-2-3 (at 12th St. and 7th Ave.), and the N-R-4-5-6 (at Union Square). Bus heading west on 9th St. stops right in front of the building. Bus running east on 8th St. stops one block away. Bus running downtown (great way to return from museums) stops right in front of the building on the Fifth Avenue side. Cabs on Fifth Avenue night and day.

Please Note: Some tile work has recently been done in the kitchen and bath area. Apartment may vary slightly from pictures.

The apartment met my needs perfectly and, quite honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about it ...
I recently rented an apartment in NYC and am entirely happy with the accommodations. The vacation rental owner, was a pleasure to deal with and an exceedingly nice person to meet. The apartment met my needs perfectly and, quite honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about it; the apartment itself, the location, the neighborhood, everything was just what I wanted. Thanks to [your agent]. He has helped me on two separate occasions in finding a suitable apartment and has always exceeded my expectations. The service he has provided has always been professional, prompt and friendly, again a pleasure to deal with. I have recommended NY Habitat to several people who have inquired about where I stay in NY and, if necessary, I would certainly use New York Habitat's services again.

The apartment literally could not have been better located, and I found the rate for the rental quite reasonable.
I was extremely satisfied with the arrangements New York Habitat was able to make for me during my recent trip to New York. The apartment literally could not have been better located, and I found the rate for the rental quite reasonable. [My agent at New York Habitat] was extremely helpful at all points. I have recommended New York Habitat to a number of people, and may contact you again soon to help me with accommodation in Europe.

The apartment where we stayed [in New York] was just perfect for us, and [the owner] was a thoughtful host
[...] In short--we were more than happy. [Our New York Habitat contact] did a very dedicated and thorough job of finding us a place in our desired area in our desired price range. We had made initial inquiries through several short term rental companies and NY Habitat gave us the best service by far. The apartment where we stayed [in New York] was just perfect for us, and [the owner] was a thoughtful host--giving us tips on transportation, local restaurants and the like. The location was ideal. The accommodations were just what we wanted, and the fact [the New York owner] has such a delight in visual display was an added bonus. Our experience was such that we have recommended the site to friends and would definitely use your services again when we travel.
