One Bedroom in Upper East Side
|
LOCATION: New York City, Upper Eastside 64th & 1st Ave.
SIZE: This is a small 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom apartment.
Building: It is a pre-war building with an old New York charm on a lovely block. The apartment is on the second floor of a six-story walk-up building. The apartment is not facing the street, and it is very quiet. The building door is kept locked; entry is with your own keys. Also, there is an intercom system whereby guests can have access to the building. The building complex has security guards that walk the grounds. There is No-Smoking allowed in the apartment.
INTERIOR: This 1 bedroom has a queen-size bed and all linens and towels are provided. There is a large TV with basic cable channels (the cable can be upgraded.)
The kitchen is well equipped, and includes a microwave as well as nice cookware and dishes. There is a table that can be expanded. Four chairs provided. Art prints and photographs adorn the walls and there are shelves that are full of books. There is also an air purifier, and an air conditioner. As is the case with many of the city's pre-war apartments the tub/shower is in the kitchen (it is an excellent shower). The W/C is located in a small room just off the kitchen. There is an iron and ironing board stored in the bathroom. There is a full length mirror ia dresser, and a hanging rack for clothes. There is plenty of closet space available.
NEIGHBORHOOD: This area boasts excellent, affordable restaurants, world famous museums, and is also close to Central Park. There are numerous movie theatres nearby. Bloomingdale's, Barney's, Madison Avenue, and many excellent small stores as well as big chains make it a great area for shopping. Within two blocks, there are choices for grocery stores, from gourmet shops to large stores. Public transportation is very accessible as there are many subway lines in the area (N, R, W, 4, 5, 6 and F trains), and there are also cross-town buses that are convenient.
The apartment is very close to Rockefeller University, as well as New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital.
