Building: This New York townhouse condominium is recently constructed. It is quiet and has a lovely terrace one floor above street level complete with trees and flowers. The terrace is an excellent place to sit and relax. There is a gate to the street, which allows a feeling of security. The doors to the individual apartments are off the terrace. There is a buzzer and an intercom system.

Interior: This bright and airy apartment one flight above the terrace is a duplex with the first floor comprised of an open kitchen looking out to the spacious living/ dining area and three windows facing west overlooking the terrace. The kitchen is a nice place to make a meal and the open countertop with stools allows for pleasant and intimate conversation in a bar setting. The living room has a new cozy couch and sitting chairs. Side tables, TV and VCR are also in the living room. The style is arty and eclectic. It's very comefertable. The finished oak floors add a nice touch. An extendable dining room table seats four.

Upstairs are two bedrooms though one is used currently as an office/studio. The bright and cheery bedroom comes with a queen size bed and opens onto a small balcony with flower boxes. It overlooks the terrace as well. It's great to open the balcony door in the morning, sit in bed and drink coffee. Linens are provided. There is an a/c in this room. The studio/office is roomy and lightly decorated. A seven foot work table can easily accommodate two laptops. The office has a phone. There is a double sized inflatable matress available. There is no a/c in this room.

There is a full bathroom with a tub and towels are provided. There is also a half bathroom downstairs.

Neighborhood: One block north of Tompkins Square Park, the heart of the East Village, the area is a mecca for artists and artisans, young and old alike. The mixture of peoples is refreshing and reassuring. It is lively and vibrant with tons of good restaurants along Avenue B and A, boutiques, and antiques. Around Avenues A and B (also called Charlie Parker Street) jazz and rock clubs abound. There's something for everyone. Here, you're in the heart of the downtown scene, the throb of the big city. You walk around and discover old and new New York at once, there is so much going on. Greenwich Village and Washington Square Park are a fifteen minute walk away.

Others: Public transportation will take you where you want to go in a matter of minutes. The crosstown L train on 1st Avenue and 14th Street will connect you to every train to every location in the city. Buses are available on just about every street corner. Cabs are plentiful.
