Comfortable apartments by Gare de l'Est close to the Canal Saint Martin between Rue du Faubourg Saint Denis and Rue d'Alsace.
This 53m2 one bedroom apartment is located on the fourth French floor of a walk up building from the late 19th century, facing north/south and having a security code system and a concierge on the premises. The apartment can accommodate two persons.
The layout is as follows: the entry hall leads to the living room to the left side, to the kitchen and bathroom to the right side and straight up to the bedroom. The décor is modern.
The 27m2 living room is furnished with a wrought iron sofa, a square coffee table, a decorative fireplace, a mirror, two area carpets, a telephone, a chest of drawers, a lamp, a compact stereo system, a stand table with lamp, a bust and other decorative items. The open dining room forming part of the same surface is furnished with an oval dining table with five matching chairs, an antique armoire and built in shelves. The entry hall has built in shelves, a mirror and two wall lamps. The walls are off white, ceiling moldings, parquet wooden floor and there are two windows with fabric curtains overlooking the street.
The 11m2 bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, built in shelves, a TV/VCR and cable, a floor lamp, a chair and built in closets. The walls are off white, parquet wooden floor and there is a window with sheer curtains with a side view of the buildings.
The separate kitchen is equipped with a 3-gas burners/1-electric burner stove with bottom electric oven, a refrigerator/freezer, a microwave/grill, a coffee maker, a toaster, a sink, a dishwasher, a washing machine and built in cabinets and shelves containing kitchen utensils. The walls are off white with partial white tiles, light green tiled floor and there is a window with a side view of the buildings.
The bathroom has a bathtub with overhead manual shower protected by plastic curtain, a sink, a mirror, glass shelves, two hampers, towel racks and a toilet. The walls are off white with partial white tiles, light green tiled floor and there is a small window.
The old-fashioned charm of the iron footbridges, survives along the old industrial Canal St- Martin, preserving the tree-lined quays, the inevitable fisherman, the river barges, and the still waters of the broad canal basins. Not far from the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, beautifully landscaped with huge cliffs, revealing caves, a suspended bridge and a lake below. Offering a vast belt of greenery for strolling, cycling, jogging, boating and picnicking. There are all sorts of essential shops and services in the neighborhood.
The appartment is in a quiet street in a building in the Hausmann style built at the end of the century. The buildings in the street have been restaured and are nicely decorated with flowers.
Internet access is available in the apartment. A cleaning service of 2hrs per week is mandatory.
The neighbourhood is very central as it takes only one stop by the "RER" to get to the Opéra, the Printemps, Galeries Lafayette, the Châtelet, Les Halles, Le Marais. There are numerous metro lines that bring you directly to any other part of town. Le marché St Quentin, just around the corner, is an old covered market typical for the turn of the century here in Paris. You will find fish, butcher, vegetable shops and whatever you need for your daily requirements. Police station, super markets and a hospital are close by. The Gare du Nord and the Gare de l'Est are within walking distance providing non stop or direct travel to London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Vienna, Munich and Zurich. "Le Parc des Recollets" is only five minutes walking distance providing a quiet, green spot in the middle of town.
The closest metro station is Gare de l'Est or Gare du Nord- lines 4, 5, 7 and RER- B, D & E.
