Neighborhood: Located between Rue de la Roquette and Rue de Charonne, this two-bedroom apartment is ideally situated close to the Place de la Bastille. Rue de Lappe is a picturesque, cobblestoned street in the trendy heart of the lively Bastille district. Quiet during the day, with furniture workshops and art galleries, it livens on evenings with its popular restaurants, clubs and bars and Paris' most famous bal-musette (traditional dance hall), the Balajo. It is five minutes to Place de la Bastille and about 10 minutes from the beautiful Place de Vosges in the Marais. The immediate neighborhood has excellent bakeries, a butcher, supermarket, health food supermarket, pharmacies, etc. Two of Paris' best and most famous street markets are very close by, Richard Lenoir and Place d'Aligre. Not very far (two metro stations away) is the more and more trendy Oberkampf neighborhood. Premises: This south-facing 74m² (approx. 795 sq. ft.) apartment is located on the third floor (fourth in the USA) of an end-of-the-20th-century elevator building with a tree-filled inner courtyard. The main door and the inner door are protected by magnetic fob and a video intercom security system. The apartment, painted in 2003, has parquet floors in the halls and living room, and pale wood floors in the bedrooms. The kitchen, bath and toilet are tiled. All the windows are double-glaze and have shutters. Layout: The entrance door opens into an entrance hall with coat hooks and a table leading to the two bedrooms and the bathroom. To the right is the kitchen entry and another door to the living/dining room. The toilet is separate. The 30m² (approx. 320 sq. ft.) living room has a row of windows facing the street. The room is furnished with two sofas (one of them is a double-size sofa bed), a large coffee table, two armchairs, several side tables, standing and reading lamps, and a large dining table and chairs. There is also a TV, DVD, VCR (cable available if desired), and a stereo. There is a wireless High speed Internet connection available. The 15m² (approx. 160 sq. ft.) master bedroom is furnished with a double bed (140 wide), and a mirrored closet, two bedside tables, a standing lamp and reading lamps. Its two windows face the street. The second 15m² (approx. 160 sq. ft.) bedroom has a window facing the street and is furnished with twin beds (90 cm wide), a bedside table and reading lamp, and a large closet with sliding doors. The eat-in kitchen is equipped with a stainless steel sink, halogen and electric four-burner stove, a refrigerator/freezer, a coffee maker, a dishwasher, and an electric oven. There is also a washing machine. The bathroom is all tiled. It is fitted with a tub and wall-mounted showerhead and a washbasin with a mirror. The toilet equipped with a small washbasin is separate. There is a parking space available. The nearest metro station is Bastille (line 1,5,8). Heat and hot water are both electric and individually metered.
