Neighborhood:
The Village d'Auteuil is a traditional neighborhood in a very select district that provides choice fashion shops, fine restaurants and cafes, and other conveniences. There are two open-air markets in the area. It is a short metro ride to the Eiffel Tower and the splendid Champ de Mars with its beautiful floral gardens; it is also a few steps away from the Seine River. Opposite, beyond the river, Trocadero Place shows the Palais de Chaillot, built for the International Exhibition in 1937; it houses the Cinema Museum, the Marine Museum and the Mankind Museum, as well as an esplanade offering an impressive view of the Eiffel Tower. All sorts of fashion and convenience shops, as well as select restaurants and cafes, are in the area.
