Neighborhood: Located between Rue Réaumur and Rue de Turbigo in a pedestrian area, this apartment is a few minutes away from Les Halles, in the heart of the famous pedestrian Montorgueil area, with its large choice of quality food products, restaurants and cafes, as well as other services. It is also in short walking distance to main points of interest such as the Marais, the Seine, Notre Dame on Ile de la Cité, the unique Ile Saint Louis and the majestic Louvre. From the adjoining Jardin des Tuileries, one of the most historic parks in Paris, there is a fine perspective -- the alignment of the Obelisk on Place de la Concorde, the Champs Elysée and the Arc de Triomphe in one direction; the Arc de Triomphe du Carroussel and the glass pyramid of the Louvre in the other. Be aware that this apartment is located in the Red Lights District. Premises: This 42m² (approx. 450 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the second floor of an 18th century walk-up building. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded security system and opens to a corridor leading to a second gate with an intercom; this opens into a courtyard leading to a third gate with another coded security system. Then a staircase that requires a key opens into a corridor leading to the apartment entrance. The door opens directly into the open kitchen, with the bathroom and living room to the left. The 15m² (approx. 160 sq. ft.) living room is decorated in an Oriental style; it has a double-glazed window with a southeastern exposure overlooking a courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, a coffee table, a dining table with chairs, two stools, built-in shelves, a TV and a stereo. The open kitchen is equipped with four gas burners topped by a cooker hood, a refrigerator, a combo grill / microwave oven, a toaster, a coffee maker and a washing machine. The 20m² (approx 220 sq ft) bedroom is accessible through the living room. It has two double-glazed windows with the same exposure and view as the living room. It is furnished with a double-size bed, two bedside tables, a single-size sofa bed and a closet. The bathroom has a large shower, a washbasin and an electric toilette. Be aware that because the toilet is electric and there is a European plumbing system in the building, the water closet cannot handle any items other than human waste and toilet paper. All other objects no matter how small (i.e., Q-tips, paper, hair, etc.) will clog up the drainage system. This could result in damage to the WC. Heat and hot water are both electric and individually metered. The nearest metro station is Etienne Marcel (Line 4).
