Neighborhood: This furnished apartment is a few steps from the historic Place de la Bastille, where the Opera de Paris, considered one of the best in the world, is located. The Opera was inaugurated for the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. The apartment is located meters away from the Square Trousseau as well as the famous outdoor food market Aligre. The Faubourg Saint Antoine area is the traditional spot for the furniture craft industry of Paris, and even though the neighborhood is now a very trendy area with designer shops, there are still traditional workshops in the small passageways. This is also where Parisians frequent cafés or small gardens or go to the theater. Within short walking distance of this accommodation is the royal Place des Vosges, beautifully architectured and built under Henri IV's reign. Musée Carnavalet, next to the Place des Vosges, relates the history of Paris. This apartment is also a few minutes from the Marais. Premises: This 64m² (approx. 685 sq. ft.) apartment is located on the fifth floor of a 20th century building with an elevator. The main entrance gate is protected by a security system and an intercom. The exposure is east-west and it faces the street and the courtyard. The high ceilings have molding and the walls are freshly painted. There are parquet floors throughout the apartment. The apartment entrance leads to a courtyard, with the open kitchen on the right. The living room is on the left along with the open dining room; both have a balcony and shutters. The bedroom is at the end of a long corridor with a large built-in closet. The designer bathroom is accessible through the bedroom. The 28m² living room is divided into two areas that can become independent by closing the two doors : - A 14m² (approx. 150 sq. ft.) living room furnished with a sofa, two larges armchairs, a coffee table, two consoles, a flat screen TV and a DVD player and with a French window and a balcony overlooking the street. - A cozy open 14m² (approx. 150 sq. ft.) dining room is furnished with a round dining table and four chairs, a stereo, a bookshelf, a decorative fireplace and some other chairs. The bar of the open, modern kitchen has two stools and faces the living room. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, vitro ceramic burners, a grill/microwave, a coffee maker, a refrigerator, a dishwasher and a freezer. All of the equipment is new. The 15m² (approx. 160 sq. ft.) bedroom has a bed and is furnished with a spacious built-in closet and a bedside table. There is also a a cross trainer. An original, fashionable characteristic of this apartment is the bathroom, which has been decorated by a designer. It has a large mirror and a designer bathtub with two showerhead systems. The lights are equipped with a dimmer. The bathroom is tiled and has also exotic wood floors. It has three windows and is furnished with a washbasin with shelves and a built in closet with a separate washing machine and a dryer. The long corridor has a built-in closet with many spacious drawers and a wardrobe. Heat and hot water are electric and individually metered. An Internet connection is available. For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is Ledru-Rollin (line 8) and Bastille (lines 1,5,8).
