Neighborhood:
This furnished studio apartment is on Rue de la Cléf in the Quartier Latin, where some of Paris' most famous universities and high schools such as Jussieu, La Sorbonne, Lycee Louis le Grand, and Lycee Henri IV are located. Several parks dot the neighborhood, such as the Jardin des Plantes with its Museum of Natural History, and the large, beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg with its magnificent alleys and pool. Nearby is the Pantheon, built as an abbey church in 1750; it was later converted into a secular mausoleum for the renowned personalities of France. The apartment is also located near the famous Rue Mouffetard with its traditional French food shop.
Premises:
This 17m² (approx. 180 sq. ft.) studio apartment is located on the second floor of a 14th century walk-up building.
The main gate opens into a courtyard where the building entrance is located. This large courtyard has a cherry tree and is filled with evergreens.
The apartment entrance opens directly into the living room and the open kitchen. A built-in recess is used as a bedroom area and there is a separate bathroom.
The 14m² (approx 150 sq ft) living room has two windows with northern and eastern exposure overlooking a nice courtyard filled with bamboo trees. It is furnished with a double-size sofa, a coffee table, a desk and chair, a cable TV, a DVD player and a stereo.
There is a 2m² (approx. 20 sq. ft.) built-in recess, which is used as a bedroom area and is furnished with a double-size bed on the floor.
The open kitchen is equipped with two vitro ceramic plates, a refrigerator, a combo microwave/oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle.
The separate bathroom has a shower topped by a showerhead, a washbasin and a toilette.
Heat and hot water are electric.
Smoking in this apartment is strictly prohibited.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is Censier Daubenton (line 7).
The owner was very helpful and easy to talk to. The location of the apartment was ideal since it was a block away from a major market and a metro station. The other tenants in the building were very nice and polite.

Jun 24 2008We been in Paris many times before, but this trip was the best, probably because of location of apartment. Even prices in USD much higher than in previous years this trip was very nice.
