Charming one-bedroom between Canal St. Martin and Belleville area
|
Neighborhood:
This furnished apartment is in a mostly residential area a few minutes walking distance from the charming Canal Saint Martin, from the Republique area, which has the atmosphere of old Paris, and, a bit farther, from the well-known Marais district. Some five metro stations away are the historic Place de la Bastille, the Louvre, and the Seine. This neighborhood offers a lot of commercial activity with diverse services such as shops, cinemas, international restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets, as well as a lot of transportation options (metro and bus).
Premises:
This 35m˛ (approx. 375 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the first floor of a 19th century walk-up building. There are current works in the courtyard of the building.
The main entrance gate is protected by a coded system and opens into a corridor. From there, a glass door with a coded system opens into the staircase.
The apartment entrance opens into a hallway leading to the bathroom, the kitchen and the living room. The bedroom is accessible through the living room.
The L-shaped living room has a double-glazed window with curtains and shutters that overlooks the courtyard. It is furnished with a trundle bed (used as a sofa), a coffee table, a console with a cable TV, a built-in cabinet with sliding doors, a round dining table with chairs and shelves containing a stereo.
The 8m˛ (approx. 85 sq. ft.) bedroom has a window that overlooks the courtyard as well; it is decorated with shutters and curtains. The room is furnished with a double-size bed, a bedside table, a built-in closet with sliding doors and, in a recess, a chest of drawers.
The kitchen is equipped with two vitro-ceramic burners, an oven, a microwave, a small dishwasher, a coffee maker, a refrigerator/freezer and a kettle.
The tiled bathroom has a folding door and contains a shower with a water massage system, a washbasin and a toilette. Please note that the toilet is electric and due to the European plumbing system in the building, the water closet cannot handle any items other than human waste and toilet paper. All other objects no matter how small (i.e., Q-tips, paper, hair, etc.) will clog up the drainage system. This could result in damage to the WC.
Internet is also available in the apartment.
Heat and hot water are electric and individually metered.
For convenient travel around Paris, the closest metro stations are Colonel Fabien (Line 2) and Belleville (lines 2 and 11).
