Neighborhood: This furnished apartment is in the Marais district, situated between Rue des Simon le Franc and Rue du Plâtre. The Marais is a high-demand neighborhood in Paris, having preserved almost all of its pre-Revolutionary architecture. In the vicinity of this street are the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg, the wide Les Halles Mall, and the well-known pedestrian Rue des Gravilliers, a residential and commercial street with nice greengrocers, fishmongers, and gorgeous restaurants and cafes. A little further is the royal Place des Vosges, the former place of residence of many historic personalities, and home to a number of precious museums. Most of the important points of interest such as Notre Dame, the Louvre, City Hall, and the Seine River with its enchanting islands are in fair walking distance of this accommodation. Premises: This 43m2 (approx. 460 sq. ft.) two-bedroom apartment is located on the fourth floor of an 18th century walk-up building. The entrance gate, protected by a coded security system, opens into a hall and then a second gate with an intercom leads to the staircase. The apartment entrance opens into the living room and the open kitchen. A small corridor leads to the two bedrooms and a dressing area. The separate bathroom is accessible from the living room. The 15m2 (approx. 160 sq. ft.) living room has a window with western exposure overlooking a courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, a dining table with chairs, a wall-mounted flat screen TV and a combo stereo/DVD player. The open kitchen is separated from the living room by a small bar. It has a granite floor and itis equipped with two vitro ceramic plates topped by a cooker hood, a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a kettle and a toaster. There is also a dishwasher and a combo washer/dryer. The first 13m2 (approx. 135 sq. ft.) bedroom has a double-glazed window with eastern exposure overlooking the street. It is furnished with a queen-size bed, bedside tables, a chair and a decorative fireplace. The second 13m2 (approx. 135 sq. ft.) bedroom has a double-glazed window with eastern exposure overlooking the street. It is furnished with a king-size bed (which can be separated into two single-size beds), bedside tables, a desk with a laptop, a chair and a decorative fireplace. There is a dressing room, which has some built-in closets. The separate bathroom has a granite floor, a window, a walk-in shower with glass door, a washbasin and a toilet. Please note that the toilet is electric and that due to the European plumbing system in the building, the water closet cannot handle any items other than human waste and toilet paper. All other objects, no matter how small (i.e., Q-tips, paper, hair, etc.), will clog up the drainage system. This could result in damage to the WC. Heat and hot water are electric. For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is Hotel de Ville (line 1,11).
