Alcove studio apartment in Marais area
|
Neighborhood:
This furnished apartment is on a street just beside the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg, and it is close to Les Halles Mall. It is about a 10-minute walk to the Louvre and the adjoining Jardin des Tuileries, as well as to the Seine River with its unique islands -- Ile de la Cite and the delightful Ile Saint Louis. This area of Paris has preserved almost all of its pre-Revolutionary architecture. It is home to a substantial number of points of interest such as museums, art galleries, designer shops, and diverse, trendy bars and restaurants. In addition to the French traditional and international restaurants and cafes, there are all sorts of facilities near this accommodation.
The street features the oldest house in Paris (built in 1407), the former residence of the alchemists Nicolas and Pernelle Flamel. There is a lovely restaurant on the premises where patrons can dine in the same rooms where these famous alchemists and philanthropists once did. The facade of the building is essentially as it was 600 years ago, but the restaurant inside is much more modern.
Premises:
This 25m² (approx. 265 sq. ft.) alcove studio apartment is located on the fourth floor of an 18th century walk-up building. The entrance gate, protected by a coded security system, opens into a courtyard where a second gate with a coded system leads to the staircase. The entrance door opens directly into the living room, which leads to the bedroom, the separate bathroom, the separate toilette and the separate kitchen.

The 8m² (approx. 85 sq. ft.) bedroom area is separated from the living room by a curtain. It has a double-glazed window with eastern exposure overlooking a courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size bed, a closet, a desk that can be used as a dining table, and chairs.
The separate bathroom has a shower topped by a showerhead, a washbasin, a toilette and a closet.
The open kitchen has a window and is equipped with two vitro ceramic plates topped by a cooker hood, a built-in refrigerator and freezer, a combo grill/microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle. There is also a combo washer/dryer.
