Neighborhood: This furnished two-bedroom apartment is located on Avenue de la Bourdonnais between Rue du Général Camou and Rue Monttessuy. Everything in the area of the Invalides is on a monumental scale, starting from the sprawling 18th century buildings of the Ecole Militaire and the Parc du Champs de Mars stretching down to the Eiffel Tower and the Seine. The avenues around the Tower are lined with luxurious buildings, some in the Art Nouveaux style, and numerous embassies. The Eiffel Tower, originally built to impress visitors to the Universal Exhibition of 1889, was meant to be temporary and now is the symbol of Paris. There are all sorts of shops near this accommodation, including the colorful and exclusive street market on Rue Cler. Premises: This 50m2 (approx 540 sq ft) two-bedroom apartment is located on the sixth and top floor of a 19th century building with elevator. The entrance gate protected by a coded security system opens into a hall. Then a second gate protected by an intercom opens into another hall with staircase and elevator. The elevator goes up to the fifth floor, from where a staircase leads to the sixth. The entrance door opens into the living room and the open kitchen. A small corridor links the two bedrooms and the bathroom. The 25m2 (approx 270 sq ft) living room has three windows with southwestern exposure overlooking the street. It is furnished with a double size sofa bed, two armchairs, a coffee table, two built in closets, a dining table and chairs, as well as a console surmounted by a flat screen TV and a combo stereo/DVD player. The open kitchen is separated from the living room by a bar and is equipped with two vitro-ceramic plates, a microwave, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, a kettle and a toaster. There is also a combo washing machine/dryer. The first 10m2 (approx 105 sq ft) bedroom has a window with northeastern exposure overlooking a courtyard. It is furnished with a two single size beds, which can be used as a king size bed and a modern style chest of drawers. It is furnished with two single size beds, which can be used as a king size bed and a large closet. The bathroom has a shower topped by a showerhead, a washbasin, a heated towel rack and a toilet. Heat and hot water are both electric. For convenient travel around Paris the nearest metro stations are Pont de l'Alma (RER C), Ecole Militaire (line 8) and Bir-Hakeim (line 6).
