This charming one bedroom apartment is found in the Sevres Babylone area in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. It is located on the 2nd floor (considered 3rd by Americans) of a 5-story walk up building dating from 1810. The building is protected by two coded systems.
You will appreciate the high ceilings, the oak wooden floors and the typical "tomette" tiles of this classic Parisian apartment. The living room is nicely furnished with contemporary and colorful appliances. The two large windows have southern exposure overlooking the street, allowing plenty of light in the room. These are new soundproof windows. A flat screen TV with cable is available for your entertainment when not strolling around the city. You will also find a double sized sofa-bed, a regular sofa, several chairs and a fully filled wooden bookcase. This 40m² (430 sqf) welcoming room is ideal to relax or to have some friends around a glass of French wine. The kitchen opens onto the living and is equipped with all the amenities needed for preparing your meals at home. It comes with a microwave, a coffee maker, a dishwasher and an oven and it even has a window with a view of the courtyard. The bedroom is also exposed south and thus very luminous. It has a double-sized bed, a large closet for storage and a wall mounted mirror. The apartment has a bathroom with a shower and separate toilets.
This one bedroom apartment is located at Rue de Sèvres and Rue Mayet. “Le Bon Marché”, a big retail store, as well as other various stores, can be found on the same street. One block away is the well-known Rue du Cherche Midi in Saint Germain des Prés and the Boulevard des Invalides. Walk 3 blocks south and you will find the famous Montparnasse Tower. This 210-meter (690 ft) tall skyscraper has many stores and also offers a great view of all Paris from its rooftop. You will also be only 1 km (0.6 miles) away from Les Invalides, which construction was initiated by Louis XIV in 1670. It was originally a hospital and a retirement home for war veterans but today it also contains museums, monuments related to the military history of France. The Musée Rodin, found in the beautiful Hôtel Biron and displaying works by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin, is 1.2 km away (0.7 miles). You can't live in the 7th arrondissement and not stop by the Champ de Mars park (located 1.6 km or 1 mile away). Offering spectacular views on the Eiffel Tower, it is a perfect place to meet up with friends, relax, picnic or watch the Tower sparkle with lights at nightfall!
The nearest subway station serves lines 10 and 13 at Duroc, only 1 block from the apartment. The line 12 is also available at Falguière, a little over 2 blocks south from there. There is also a bike rental (vélib’) on Boulevard des Invalides, just 1 block away from the apartment. Please note that the subway line goes right under rue de Sèvres and could be heard at times.

The apartment is very comfortable for a stay in your "home away from home". Very well equipped and in a "chic" neighborhood of Paris. The owner is very nice and always available. |
