Apartment Rental: 2 months

I rented from July 2 to August 31, 2012. First, the good. The apartment is located in a beautiful building in a beautiful section of the 7th District and is surrounded by numerous botique and designer shops, restaurants, and beautiful grocery stores.
The Metro and the Poste are at the end of the block; bus stops are around the corner; and major sites within the area are easily walkable.
The apartment was clean, and the kitchen is well-stocked with dinnerware, pots/pans, and utensils. The owners were very hospitable. My deposit was returned, as there was no damage to the apartment.
There were BIG DISAPPOINTMENTS, however. The overall look and feel of the furnishings is cheap. The flooring in the living and kitchen areas is plastic, not wood. Before signing the rental contract, and upon my direct inquiry to owner, I was informed there were English-language TV channels. I expected at least the BBC and/or France 24 (English version). Upon arrival, I was told there were no English-language channels.
The apartment is located on the top floor (7 floors) with direct eastern exposure which brings an unobstructed view. It also brings unobstructed sunlight through the windows and large skylight in the bathroom.
Although I kept the shades completely down and windows closed during sunshine, the apartment heated up. During most of August 2012, the high Paris temperatures (up to 99 degrees farenheit / 37.2 celcius for several days) made the apartment almost unbearable. Whenever the outside temperature reached the mid-70s (farenheit), which was a great deal of the time I was there, the apartment heated up and became very uncomfortable. Had I known the true facts about this apartment, I would not have rented it.

The communication with Virginia during the few days we were in Paris (up to July 5) following her arrival was very good.
I am sorry she did not let us know how important it was for her to get television channels in English because we could have fixed this issue. Indeed, the studio apartment is equipped with a NEUFBOX that offers access to many televsion channels, including channels in English, beside Ineternet access. Unfortunately, the TV was connected to the DTT which only has channels in French, and not to the NEUFBOX. I'll see to that in the future.
I am truly sorry Virginia suffered from the heat we had in August, but it is true that this year, there was a several day long heatwave and as the studio is in an older building, there is no air conditioning. However, there is a fan and there are two windows in the shade in the afternoon.

I still hope Virginia will keep happy memories of her stay in Paris.

Thank you for the apartment, I really like the treatment that the owner gave us, the studio was situated in an excellent area and building, the only thing that did not work as well was the heater for the shower but from that everything was great.

We brought this comment about the water heater to the owner of this furnished apartment so the problem can be looked into and corrected.
