Gare du Nord is the busiest train station in all of Europe and handles over 180 million passengers per year. With the Eurostar service to the UK, Thalys to the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium the station truly is Paris' international rail terminus. The Gare du Nord also serves destinations in northeastern France.
The Gare de l'Est is another of Paris' 6 grand stations and offers the departure point for the Orient Express as well as SNCF trains to the Champagne-Ardenne, Lorraine and Alsace regions of France. The station is the departure point for the new east LGV line.
