Duplex in the Marais

This refined duplex apartment is located on Rue de Turenne between Place des Vosges and Rue Vieilles du Temple. The apartment is on a vibrant street close to Place des Vosges and its harmonious architecture, and to Place de la Bastille, symbol of the French Republic. Victor Hugo lived at 6 Place des Vosges from 1832 to 1848; Victor Hugo's house is now a municipal museum.
In a few minutes walking distance are the Louvre, the most famous and popular museum of Paris, and the neighboring royal Jardin des Tuileries, one of the largest parks of Paris. This lively area offers select and traditional restaurants, a number of cafes, and diverse shops on its charming streets.
The apartment is situated on the ground and first French floors (first and second floors in the USA) of a 'bourgeois' 17th century building with a concierge and a security system. It has two entrances; the first is the courtyard and the second is via the stairs of the building.
This is a fabulous and spacious apartment and tastefully decorated. It has double exposure, east-west, and can accommodate three persons. It measures 100m2 (approx. 1,075 sq. ft.).
First floor:
The entry door leads to the spacious and stylish eat-in kitchen. The dining area has a round dining table with six chairs in an open American-style kitchen. All appliances are provided, including a stove with three gas burners and one electric burner, an electric oven, a refrigerator/freezer, a sink, a toaster and plenty of cupboards with nice doors. The walls are maroon and the floor is black-and-white tile. There is a window facing the courtyard.
The spiral staircase leads to the second floor, where the entire ceiling has exposed beams painted white.
The 54m˛ (approx. 580 sq. ft.) living room has two windows facing the street. It has a fireplace and a very comfortable sofa, one leather club chair from the 50s, and an antique single bed, which is also used as a sofa. The fireplace is between two large bookcases, one of which contains the TV with a VCR, a DVD player and a stereo.
The floor is an antique hexagonal floor tile with area rugs. The walls are light green. There are several kinds of lamps and decorative items and furniture such as a mirror, plants, and paintings all over the room, giving it a warm atmosphere.
Next to the living room is the 20m˛ (approx. 215 sq. ft.) office. It has a window with curtains and is decorated with an antique desk and bookcases that cover most of the room. The floor has black-and-white carpet and the walls are orange.
Passing through the office, to the right, is a bedroom that measures 9m˛ (approx. 95 sq. ft.). It has a double-size bed, a bedside table and a window facing the courtyard. There is a red-carpeted floor and white walls.
The access to the main bathroom is in the living room. This stylish bathroom has an antique tub with a shower, an antique sink surrounded by a mirror, and a wrought iron table and shelves. The floor is tiled, there are yellow walls decorated with paintings, and a window facing the courtyard.
The second bathroom is just next to the office. It has a black-and-white tiled shower, one small white sink, a mirror, and the toilet.
On the second floor, right after the office and the bedroom, a smaller corridor leads to the second entrance of the apartment.
The closest metro station is Saint Sebastien Froissard (line 8).
There is access to Internet ADSL in the office.
