Two bedroom loft on Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière
This large and bright artist loft is situated in a busy street between Rue Lafayette & Rue Maubeuge.

Near this 90m2 two-bedroom apartment, you will find the Grands Boulevards that are lined with 19th century buildings and used to be the center of café and theatre life in the 18th and 19th centuries. They offer restaurants, bars, shops like Galeries Lafayette, markets and cinemas. At 10 minutes walk is the Opéra Garnier, which was intended to establish a Napoleon III; the result was a neo-baroque building.

This loft is located on the ground floor of an independent building in the inner courtyard of a building from the 19th century. The main entrance gate is protected by a security system and there is also a private garden with the apartment. The exposure is northeast and it faces its small private garden.

The walls are white painted and there is parquet floor almost everywhere.

The apartment is divided as follows: when you enter the loft is a long corridor. Directly on the left side of it is the 70m2 living room, which opens onto a 20m2 dining room. On a mezzanine on top of the dining room is a 12m2 bedroom. Facing the dining room are a bathroom and a separate kitchen. Opposite the dining room are a 16m2 bedroom and a separate toilet. On top of the living room near to the bedroom is an entire section of the wall used as a wardrobe and closets. This part is reachable by stairs.

The living room has large bay windows with one French window viewing the garden and a glass roof. It is decorated on one side with a large desk with chairs and sets of shelves as well as a telephone. Next to it is a bookcase. Facing it is a sofa bed (140 wide) with a coffee table, armchairs and a cable TV. There are diverse decorative items in this room such as mirrors, lamps, paintings and other pieces of furniture.

The dining room has red brick tiles on the floor and is furnished with a dining table and chairs as well as sets of built-in wall shelves.

The smallest bedroom on the mezzanine is reachable by stairs. It has a glass roof with a lamp, a double bed (140 wide) and sets of shelves.

The master bedroom has bay windows with a French window opening onto the garden and a glass roof. The floor is tiled and it is fitted with a single bed (120 wide), two bedside tables with lamps, sets of built-in wall shelves, a wooden piece of furniture, an armchair and a separate closet.

The kitchen is all tiled and has a window, a French window opening onto the garden and a glass roof. It is fully equipped with a gas oven, three gas burners and an electric burner, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a washing machine, a small fridge, a ceramic sink and all the necessary utensils.

The bathroom is all tiled and has a window. It has a tub with a handheld showerhead and a washbasin surmounted by a mirror and two lamps.
The toilet is separate tiled with a window and a washbasin.

There is gas heating and water heater. Telephone restricted to reception calls only.

We had a wonderful time in Paris [...] The owner of the [vacation rental] atelier in which we stayed, warmly greeted us on our arrival. She had cold drinks, fruit, and cookies as a much-appreciated refreshment. [She] had prepared a small notebook with directions from watering her plants to working the washing machine and a phone number where she or her neighbor could be reached in case there was a problem. She also had prepared a package of maps and tourist information about things to do and places to see in Paris. We all liked Nicole and felt almost like longtime friends by the time we left.

One of the reasons we enjoy traveling is to experience cultural diversity. We enjoy seeing how people in other parts of the world live and seeing parts of a city that tourists don't normally experience. [This] atelier [type apartment] gave us the opportunity experience living in a converted artists studio, shop in local Paris markets, roam the streets of the neighborhood, and buy just-baked croissants from the corner bakery in the morning (we quickly discovered which bakery had the best) and pick up a baguette for dinner on the way home in the evening.

[The] vacation rental was nothing like the home we have here in Washington. We didn't expect it to be. We didn't want it to be. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and after a day of sightseeing, walking in the front door was a welcoming feeling. We felt at home.

It was a pleasure working with NYHabitat on our Paris accommodations.
If we hadn't we would not have had the pleasure of meeting [this Paris owner].
