Located between Place de la Bastille and Boulevard de Menilmontant, this studio is next to the place Leon Blum and its numerous cafes, restaurants, and other services and La Petite Roquette Park with fountains and flowers. Many people frequent this popular neighborhood where artists and craftsmen live.
The historic Place de la Bastille and its new Opéra House considered as one of the best Operas in the world, inaugurated at the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution is at the beginning of Rue de la Roquette. Place des Vosges, known for its art galleries, antique shops and also for the famous French novelist Victor Hugo's residence at 6, Place des Vosges from 1832 to 1848 is ten-minute walk away. A wide selection of traditional ethnic restaurants, cafes, and open-air markets such as the one on Place d'Aligre provide unforgettable experiences through all the senses. Small shops to larger chain stores such as Monoprix, and a variety of services are easily found in the neighborhood.
The 30-m2 cozy mezzanine studio apartment is situated on the ground floor of a prewar walk-up building. A digicode system protects the main entrance. The studio has tiled floor, subtle colors and south exposure with two very large windows facing the courtyard that makes this apartment a little haven from the bustle of the outside streets.
The entry door opens directly on the living room. A separate kitchen with a communicating bathroom is on the left.
A double bed is in living room on a mezzanine, above the separate toilet area with a washbasin. There is also a double size sofa bed and a single size sofa bed.
The 20m2 living room has one large window and is furnished with two chairs, a table, a coffee table, built in wall closets, a cable TV, a VCR, a stereo and a phone. A ladder leads to the double loft bed. There is air-conditioning and an over-head fan.
The eat-in kitchen is separated from the living room by a wall with windows and a door. It is equipped with a small fridge, a stainless-steel sink, a washing machine, custom-made wall shelves, a coffee maker, a kettle and two electric hotplates. All the necessary utensils are stored in the cupboard or butcher block table. A glass table creates a working or eating space as does the countertop. There is also a desk and a chair.
The bathroom contains a bathtub with a wall mounted showerhead and a washbasin surmounted by a mirror medicine cabinet,
There is a Laundromat one block down the street for drying clothes.
The separate toilet has a washbasin, mirror and towel racks.
