Quiet studio in the Saint Michel area

Neighborhood: This studio is located between the Boulevard Saint Germain and the Seine River in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Nearby are Notre Dame, the Pantheon, and the universities. Also close by are some lovely parks, such as the Jardin des Plantes with the marvelous National Museum of Natural History, and the Jardin du Luxembourg. The busy residential and commercial Boulevard Saint Michel has numerous diverse shops, and is one of the boundaries between the 5th and 6th Arrondissements. It is also fairly close to the very exclusive Saint Germain des Prés area with its elegant fashion shops, famous restaurants, cafes, pubs, and the acclaimed Buci market. Premises: This 19m² (approx. 200 sq ft) studio apartment is situated on the ground floor of a 16th century walk-up building made of white stone. The main entrance gate is protected by a security system. The apartment faces a courtyard and has a western exposure. There are wooden floors throughout -- except in the bathroom, which is completely tiled -- and the 320cm high ceiling has exposed beams. The apartment is divided into a main room and sleeping area. The entrance opens into the main room through a French door protected by a metal gate. On the right is a sleeping loft/mezzanine that is reached by a ladder. There is no kitchen and the bathroom is next to the entrance door on the landing outside of the apartment. The 17m² (approx. 175 sq. ft.) main room has a large window (with wooden shutters) and faces the courtyard. It is decorated with a 140cm wide sofa bed, a bedside table with a lamp, a wooden table, two chairs, shelves, and a small sideboard with a kettle and cups. It also has an electric hot plate and a small refrigerator. The sleeping loft/mezzanine is furnished with a single mattress (90 cm wide) and is accessed from the main room by a ladder. The shower room is outside of the apartment but on the same landing. It is totally private and contains a wall-mounted showerhead, a small washbasin with a mirror, and a toilet. The phone is restricted to reception calls but tenants may make calls using a phone card. The nearest metro stations are Saint-Michel (lines 4 and RERB) and Maubert Mutualite (line 10). The nearest metro station is Place Monge (line 7).
