Neighborhood : This one bedroom apartment situated on the famous Place St. André Des Arts in the heart of St. Michel neighborhood, between the Boulevard and the Quai Saint Michel. Though being placed in the heart of the Latin Quarter at only a few meters from the Seine river and the Notre-Dame Cathedral, this 56 m2 apartment is very quiet thanks to a good isolation and its exposure on a calm courtyard. You will then have the advantage of being in the so famous intellectual and dynamic core of Paris but having the calm and comfort in the apartment itself. Intellectual core of Paris, the Quartier Latin, abounds with many points of historical interest such as the 'Sainte Chapelle', the renowned 'Fontaine Saint Michel', l'Ile Saint Louis, l'Ile de la Cité with the Law Courts built under Saint Louis from 1241 to 1248, 'Cluny's' Thermae (from the 3rd century) Hotel (15th century) and Museum (19th century), among others. In addition the Seine River, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Boulevard Saint Germain are within a very short walking distance (40 to 50 m) and, a block and a half away, is the Sorbonne University. A large variety of nice shops, celebrated restaurants and cafes, and cinemas, as well as basic services such as supermarkets are found all around this neighborhood. A real attraction being the XIXth century covered Saint Germain market place. It is serviced by Metro, line 4 (Saint-Michel, Odeon), RER, line B and C, and more than 20 buslines which will take you 'sightseeing' all around Paris. Premises : This one-bedroom apartment is located on the first floor of an 18th century walk-up building having a security system and a video intercom. Entirely refurnished, tiled floor, and windows facing a calm courtyard with a southwest exposure, and enough bedding for 4 people. When you enter, a small entry hall, a closet and a separate toilet with a window and a washbasin. Facing the entry hall is a separate and fully equipped kitchen (combo fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, coffee-maker, electric kettle, toaster, microwave, dish-washer, etc.). On the right hand-side of the entry hall is a 28 m2 living and dining room. The 12 m2 bedroom and its ensuite bathroom are on the right hand-side of the living room. The living room has two windows facing the courtyard and is decorated with silk ivory colored curtains, an art deco Roche-Bobois off-white genuine leather double sofa bed with wooden armrests and its two matching armchairs, a Gauthier glass coffee table with leather covered legs sitting on an Iranian woollen rug, a cable TV sitting on an XVIIIth century French provincial chest, a stereo and a phone. The dining room Gauthier table also has a glass top which sits on very modern wooden legs, there are four Stark design chairs and in place of just a buffet stands a XIXth century English library. There are two fans available, an Internet high speed connexion, and free local and international phone calls (except for cell phones) to more than 90 countries. The bedroom has a window viewing the courtyard and is furnished with two fully articulate electric single beds (80 x 200 cm), to be used individually or as a Queen-size bed, two bedside tables with lamps, a desk and chair. The kitchen is fully equipped, has a window and is very functional. It has a Three-in-one stove (4 burners -3 gas, 1 electric-, an oven, and a dishwasher) with an extractor, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a small dishwasher, a washing-drying machine and a double ceramic sink. Many cupboards are available with the necessary kitchen utensils (electric kettle, toaster, electric coffee-maker). The bathroom is entirely tiled and fitted with a tub with a hand-held showerhead and a separate shower, a washbasin surmounted by a mirror and a small dressing room.
