one bedroom apartment in the Marais
|
Neighborhood:
This furnished one-bedroom apartment is located on Rue des Gravilliers between Rue du Beaubourg and Rue du Temple. It is near the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg, with its diverse art galleries. This street is very close to the Les Halles Mall. Within walking distance are the Louvre, the adjoining Jardin des Tuileries, and the Seine with its unique islands, Ile de la Cite and Ile Saint Louis.
A unique characteristic of the apartment is that it is located very close to the oldest house in Paris (built in 1407), once the home of the alchemists Nicolas and Pernelle Flamel. There is a lovely restaurant on the premises where patrons can dine in the same rooms where these famous alchemists and philanthropists once did. The facade of the building is essentially as it was 600 years ago, but the restaurant inside is much more modern. In addition to the French traditional and international restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood, there are all sorts of services and conveniences near this accommodation.
Premises:
This 42m˛ (approx 450 sq ft) one bedroom apartment is situated on the first floor of an 17th century walk-up building. The main entrance gate protected by a coded security sytem opens into a corridor, which leads to the staircase.
The entrance door opens into a hall, which links the living room and the open kitchen, the bathroom and the separate toilet. The bedroom is accessible by the living room.
The 20m˛ (approx 215 sq ft) living room has a window with southern exposure overlooking a courtyard. It is furnished with a double size sofa bed, a dining table and chairs, a TV and two consoles.
The open kitchen is equipped with four vitro ceramic plates, a microwave, a combo refrigerator/freezer, a combo washing machine/dryer, a coffee maker and a toaster.
The 10m˛ (approx 105 sq ft) bedroom has a window with eastern exposure overlooking a courtyard. It is furnished with a double size bed, two bedside tables, a large closet and a stereo.
The bathroom has a window, a bathtub with a wall-mounted showerhead and a washbasin surmounted by a mirror.
There is also a separate toilet.
Heat and hot water are both electric.
The nearest metro station is Arts et Métiers (line 11)
