Studio Apartment with terrasse close to the Place des Vosges
|
Neighborhood:
Located between Rue Saint-Antoine and rue du Pas de la Mule, this studio apartment is next to the royal Place des Vosges, famous and hailed for the harmony of its architecture, where the famous French novelist Victor Hugo lived from 1832 to 1848 (number 6). It is still possible to visit his apartment and the room where he wrote his novels (Les Misérables in particular). Built under Henry IV the singular Place des Vosges was first called Place Royale, having been the heart of an aristocratic district, where the rebellious nobles flouted Richelieu's ban for duel fights. It is part of the special atmosphere enclosing the live and historical Marais area with its substantial number of points of interest, such as museums, art galleries, design shops, as well as diverse types of trendy bars and restaurants. In a walking distance are the Seine River with its two delectable islands - Ile de la Cite and Ile Saint Louis - and the Hotel de Ville (City Hall).
In the neighborhood there are a number of traditional restaurants, cafes and open-air markets, such as the market on Place d'Aligre and the one on Rue Richard Lenoir. All other sorts of services are easily found in the neighborhood. Numerous cinemas are in and around the area.
Just steps away is the Rue de la Roquettet. This street is mostly frequented by young people. The heart of this area is the historic Place de la Bastille, symbol of the French Republic. Built during the 14th century as a fortified royal residence, it is the most famous monument in Paris. You have the new Opéra House nearby, considered as one of the best Operas in the world, inaugurated at the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution.
Premises: This 25m˛ studio apartment is located on the first floor (2nd for the USA) of a four floor walk-up stone building. The main entrance gate is protected by an intercom.
Layout: The entrance door opens onto a small hallway. The living room/ sleeping area is straight ahead, the bathroom is on the left and the separate kitchen is accessible through the living room. The kitchen opens onto the terrace.
The 20m˛ living room is furnished with two single beds which can be transformed into a double-size bed, an armchair, a table with chairs, a TV and a chest of drawers.
The kitchen is equipped with two hotplates, a microwave, a stainless sink, a fridge, a kettle, a coffee maker and a toaster. All the necessary ustensils are in the cupboards. There is a small marble table in the kitchen. The French window opens onto the private terrace where you can find a table with two chairs.
The bathroom has a bathtub, a washbasin and a toilet.
There is a walk-in closet.
The nearest metro stations are St Paul (line 1) and Bastille (lines 1, 5, 8). Heat and hot water are electric and individually metered. Owner has several apartments in this building that could be rented for groups traveling together.
