Neighborhood:
This typical Parisian residential neighborhood is located a few steps from the grand Place de la Republique and the legendary Place de la Bastille, home to many forms of entertainment including the Opera House, cinemas, restaurants, and pubs. It is also close to the Père Lachaise cemetery where a number of famous people are buried, such as Jim Morrison. All sorts of convenience shops are easily found in the neighborhood as well. It is near the Marais area, which has a special atmosphere because of its pre-Revolutionary architecture, its exclusivity and its proximity to so many of Paris' famous monuments and sights. It includes a substantial number of points of interest such as the royal Place de Vosges, the home of Victor Hugo (at number 6), and the Beaubourg area and Pompidou Center, one of the city's most visible structures and its museum for modern art. There are art galleries, design shops, a diversity of trendy bars and restaurants, and other types of essential shops and services in the neighborhood.
Premises:
This 65m² (approx. 690 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the first floor (second in the USA) of a 19th century walk-up building. The main gate is protected by a coded security system. The apartment has a southwestern exposure and is equipped with a WiFi Internet connection.
Layout:
The entrance door opens directly into the living room and an open kitchen. To the left is the separate toilet and then the bedroom and bathroom.
The 32m² (approx. 340 sq. ft.) living room has two double-glaze windows overlooking the street. It is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, a dresser with a cable flat screen TV, a DVD player, a VCR, a stereo and an ADSL Internet connection. There is also a phone, a decorative fireplace, a coffee table, two chairs, shelves and a chest of drawers.
The open kitchen has a double-glaze window overlooking the street. It is equipped with three vitro ceramic burners, a refrigerator, a freezer, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a toaster, a coffee maker and a kettle.
The 12m² (approx. 125 sq. ft.) bedroom has a double-glaze window overlooking the courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size bed, two bedside tables with lamps and an alarm clock, a closet, a desk with a computer, a chest of drawers and a chair.
The bathroom has a window, a shower, a washbasin and a washing machine.
There is a separate toilet with a washbasin.
The nearest metro station is République (line 3,5,8,9,11).
Heat and hot water are electric and individually metered.
