This apartment is located near the Place de la Bastille and Rue de Lappe, with its numerous cafes, restaurants, and other services. Nearby is Rue de la Roquette, which is frequented most often by young people. The heart of this area is the historic Place de la Bastille with its Opéra House, which was inaugurated at the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. A 10-minute walk away is Place des Vosges, known for its art galleries, expensive antique shops and also for the famous French novelist Victor Hugo's residence at #6. It is still possible to visit his apartment and the room where he wrote his novels. In the neighborhood there are number of traditional restaurants, cafes, and open-air markets such as the Place d'Aligre, and a second one on Rue Richard Lenoir. There is a supermarket really close to the apartment.

We had a VERY pleasant stay in Bastille. The apartment was spacious and neat. Excellent amenities in the kitchen including a coffee/espresso maker. The beds were comfortable including the sofa bed. Had to get used to the 3 bath/shower/toilet room configuration but that took no time.
Apr 05 2013The market next door to the apartment had all the extra food we needed but, in Paris, you go out to eat so there's not much of a need to keep perishable food except milk for morning coffee.
The sun hits the apartment fairly early so the electric shades on the main windows were very helpful. I would certainly rent this apartment again.
This apt was like a home away from home very comfortable and excessable to the Metro. It was a little challange to access cabs in the area however so we decided to contact a hotel down the street for a cab for return to the airport which worked out great.
Sep 17 2012The owner was more then welcoming made sure we were comfortable in every way. Access to the metro was right accross the street which made access to Paris very easy to all we wanted to see on our trip. We were very impressed with the security of the building very safe and secure.
Quiet neighborbood surrounding the building and a food store just down stairs.
Beautiful balcony with table and chairs outside a delight. Little hot one day no air or fans but all other days very nice bresse throuth apt in September. Very good restaurants in the area. All the bathrooms were clean and shower was great.
We truly enjoyed our stay. We also were glad for the elevator in the bldg. The owner also provided a hair dryer.
Clean, spacious, bright, modern apartment with view. Quiet area at night, but right on Metro line and walking distance from lots of restaurants.
Jun 23 2012We stayed for 5 days and were very comfortable. (Three adults and two kids.)
We had a great time and were very comfortable in this apartment. The area is quiet but a few blocks in any direction and there were restaurants and clubs and sights to be seen. My favorite part is the huge windows and balcony which wraps around the apartment with views over the rooftops. The weather was nice enough to have coffee in the morning and a glass of wine outside in the evening.
May 16 2012The Metro is directly across the street and connect easily to all the main lines. There is a grocery store out the back door of the building that bakes fresh bread (yum!!)
My husband and I stayed for a week and my son and, at one point, three of his friend came to stay with us for a few nights. And with the second bedroom and the way the bathroom is actually broken into three separate rooms it was quite comfortable .
The owner was very nice and very helpful and helped us get our wi-fi set up before she left. My only suggestion is that the apartment could use a hair dryer. I would love to go back to Paris and would stay there again.

I am glad to hear my guests enjoy the comfort of my vacation rental and the help I can give them, which I think is only natural. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom. Maybe they didn't see it. I will place it more prominently for the next rental.
May 28 2012For each new rental, I try to do the best I can so my guests have a successful stay.
My family's stay in this apartment was wonderful.
Jan 07 2012From the beginning Mrs. Sauvage was really pleasant with us. She agreed on showing us the place before renting it, she gave us a nice welcome with wine, and was concerned on how we were during our stay.
Regarding the apartment, it has a balcony with a great view of Paris because it was one of the higher floors in the building. With two bedrooms and a big living room, it was perfect to accommodate 5 persons and the kitchen was comfortable and well equipped. The bathrooms are another point to highlight, a shower and a bath with hydro -massage were perfect after a whole day of walking in Paris.
The location of the building was one of the best aspects, near to the metro station Richard-Lenoir, it was easy to make transfers in the station La Bastille, where you are able to take the most important metro lines and travel to the monuments in the "city of lights". Finally, if you are going to travel to Paris during winter, don't be worried about the cold, the heater works very well, and it is regulated at a perfect temperature.
Without a doubt we will rent this apartment for another family vacations in Paris.

Mr. C's stay went very well. Mr. C and his family are charming people and I know that they were very happy with the vacation rental. They should be writing you an email to confirm this.
Jan 07 2012The apartment had an amazing view and a huge living room with floor to ceiling windows all around, the view was spectacular!
May 06 2011The flat was comfortable and had ample living spaces. However it must be noted that while there are three bathrooms only one has a WC while the other two only have sinks and a shower or a bathtub. There is also only one bedroom, a part of the living room can be closed in order to make another smaller bedroom with a sofa bed but this enclosure does not block out noise or light from the main living room.
It was overall a great experience but the apartment is probably better suited for just 2-3 people.
I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough and the same goes for this particular owner who went out of her way to help and make my stay memorable. The apartment is a home away from home, super confortable and well appointed plus it has the advantage of being in a very nice neighbourhood and very close to the centre of Paris.
Nov 20 2006In fact, next time I go to Paris, I know where I'll go!!! A very satisfied customer indeed.
[...] We have recently stayed in a Paris apartment through your agency and I have nothing but praise for the place that we stayed at.
Nov 02 2006The apartment matched the photos on the website exactly - exceeded our expectations in fact - with its size, cleanliness and amazing views of Paris!
Not only that, our host was amazingly considerate and friendly and it was a joy to stay in this apartment with a real personal touch!
I would recommend the apartment to anyone who wished to have a real Parisian experience! It was close to all amenities and also the Bastille open air markets and the metro stop.
We loved our stay at the apartment. The landlord/owner was fabulously friendly and helpful, facilities as described (even better really) and found the location perfect for our needs.
