Neighborhood:
One of the most youthful areas of Paris placed a few steps from the Seine River and Notre Dame Cathedral, the Quartier Latin is so called because all communication between students and teachers took place in Latin from the Middle Ages until the French Revolution. Here is the famous Boulevard Saint Germain, with its sophisticated fashion shops and select restaurants. In addition, there are nice pubs and cafes, the well-known Maubert open-air market and, a little farther, the Mouffetard open-air market with all kinds of French specialties -- fresh French baguettes and pastries, seafood, choice fruits, vegetables, and unique sorts of cheeses. There are many other convenience stores, other select restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets.
Premises:
This 16m² (approx. 170 sq. ft.) mezzanine studio apartment with a northern exposure is located on the ground floor of a 19th century building. A coded security system and an intercom protect the main entrance gate.
Layout:
The entrance door opens into the living room and the open kitchen; to the right are the bathroom and toilet and the mezzanine area.
The kitchen includes a microwave, a toaster, a two-burner stove and a small refrigerator. There is no oven.
The 12m² (approx. 125 sq. ft.) living room has two windows overlooking the courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, an armchair, a table, two chairs, small built-in closets, a phone, a high-speed Internet connection, a stereo, a piano, a stool and a double-size bed in the mezzanine area.
The open kitchen has two electric burners, a refrigerator, a kettle, a toaster and a coffee maker.
The bathroom is equipped with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin.
The nearest metro station is Place Monge (L7).
Heat and hot water are both electric and individually metered.
